If it has a link, never click it (ffs).

Any announcement will usually be told to you right as you log on. Never by email.

Honestly Ronin, as long as there are people using the internet there will be people setting up $20 websites and getting dumbasses to type their passwords for everything into it. No point trying to teach people not to, because they're dumbasses.

Oh, allow one two (second one being Gravity Jeep), and shut down the rest. I see.

Trigun's crap was failed for a number of reasons. First he gave alternate download links via mediafire which totally negates the versioning system of RTB. Secondly his loops go through the entire missioncleanup group every tick which is going to really slow stuff down, whereas space guy and zor's loops only affect single objects. Finally Trigun is an idiot. I'm glad to see you're so concerned about fairness in the community though.

And please, next time use a drama thread instead of a totally unrelated topic.

Most HTTP/TCP Objects should have an onConnected method defined and I assumed this was the case. I'll add in some checks to make sure the methods exist before calling them.

Modification Help / Re: Delay on code
« on: November 30, 2008, 05:14:05 PM »
I think it is something along the lines of schedules. I remember randy saying that is how he stopped crashes by limiting the amount of time with the generations of a maze in his maze generator with schedules.

Randy probably used a standard scheduled tick function setup, there is no command to halt the execution of a script for a specified time.

I know how to use schedules, But i wanted to avoid that. and fine, "I'm in a bit of a pickle." You know what? I don't want your help. I don't need your or trader's help, I can due fine without help, But i just wanted to know if anyone knew of a function to wait a time before continuing, oh say somthing like wait(5000);.

Clearly you can't do fine without help or you wouldn't have 5 help topics on this page of the coding help forums alone.

Anyway, you already lost because you said the quote.  :cookieMonster:

You're making a crazy number of coding help topics, I think you're getting lazy. As part of forum tradition you are now required to say "I am in a bit of a pickle" before any tradition-adhering (probably just me and Trader) will help you (not that we would anyway). See this thread, since you're so new and un-hip:

Modification Help / Re: In-Game Script Editor - Beta 3a Important Fix!
« on: November 29, 2008, 10:10:59 AM »
Transmit datablocks shouldn't be used after a player has loaded, and new datablocks shouldn't be introduced after the player has loaded because it does affect the stability of the server.

Modification Help / Re: In-Game Script Editor -- I was bored
« on: November 28, 2008, 07:28:17 PM »
The whole "I was bored" thing just lets us know that you think what you've made is crap and you're embarrassed that you even spent time on it, so you have to invent excuses to make it seem like you just did this during your lunch break or something when it was raining.

this is meeeee!!!!

I find it cool how someone that young can figure out how to use a photocopier and an upload website. I mean, it may sound patronising but considering there are like 15 year olds that can't do this, its pretty neat.

No, because announce is an IGSO command as far as I know.

The NoShiftMoveMap error is a result of IGSO being stuff.

Hmm, I think it did take down my server, that's all that I saw when I got back to my computer, tehn it didn't let me start a server again a few times, I thought Badspot removed the one built in.  Whatever, something to look into.

No, that'll be because your ip changed or your computer went into standby or something. RTB won't inhibit your ability to create or maintain a server (unless it crashes your game accidentally).

Someone could abuse that to make it where people that have IDs 0-500 get to have it.

I decided to only allow you to specify single IDs and not a range, so you'd have to type all the IDs between 0 and 500 which might get dull. Users that do take the time to enter a whole range of IDs in a discriminatory fashion will have their upload rights revoked temporarily.

Just to let you know, RTB disables the message for admin force and the host join server admin message. I do not know if it is inadvertent or what.

This is fixed in the next version.

Stop saying that because Ephi is not Trader who would work on something and show it off yet not release it due to hating a small bit of the forum community.

Cheap shots belong in the Drama forum. You can ask and ask when RTB's done, but it'll just make me hate you more.

General Discussion / Re: THESE ARE ABOUT THE BEST EVENTS EVER INVENTED!

You know that you can just do

  • OnActivate - Self - FireRelay
  • [0] OnRelay - Self - FireRelay
  • OnRelay - Player/Client - stuff

Or if you want to not make the brick track so many relays

  • OnActivate - Self - FireRelay
  • [0] OnActivate - Self - CancelEvents
  • OnActivate - Self - ToggleEventEnabled [.0] (as long as 0 is the first one listed here)
  • OnRelay - Self - FireRelay
  • [0] OnRelay - Player/Client - stuff

No... As far as I remember the only onRelay target is Self. You have to fire a projectile onRelay then onProjectileHit > Player/Client.

Yeah I think that will occasionally happen if the RTB server is experiencing high CPU usage which has been happening recently due to another user on our shared server running some CPU-intensive applications (this has now been dealt with, by the way)  - I have removed the popup from displaying in the next RTB and down-graded it to a console error, however this shouldn't be happening repeatedly unless you actually have entered details incorrectly since the system will try to auth you up to 10 times then fail. Sessions are then established between you and the server so the process should only ever be done once unless your session expires (but you'd have to be playing blockland for a few days straight for that to happen).

Anyway, i'll be looking into whats going on there later.

@Marcem, this is an RTB error not the Auth Fail blockland error that closes your internet server. The RTB one just has a popup message.
