It's strange your current machine doesn't run TF2. My old PC had a single core Athlon 1.8GHz, and an nVidia 6150, and could run l4d which is more intensive.

My computer CAN run tf2, but it runs at like 4 fps or something ridiculous and unplayable. But I also have other games I'd like to play and this computer has about 20gb of hard drive space left, so a new computer was in order soon anyways.

I updated it a little bit, found a graphics card that would perform better, most likely. The price raised about $30, though, and is almost near the $700 margin.

That's fine. I actually have about 100-200 dollars extra for any games or other things I might want to buy to go with it.

I'd say just get a DIY kit, like this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.328465

You'll need a graphics card, as that DIY kit doesn't have one. Get an EVGA card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130450

It'll come out to about $668. If you prefer Intel or ATi instead of AMD and nVidia, I could find another kit for you.

Wow thanks. I didn't even know they had DIY kits. Also I'm not real picky about anything, really. As long as it does what I want it to do.

That motherboard, processor and RAM are incompatible with each other.

How can I tell and/or fix it?

The monitor, the keyboard, the mouse, and the speakers can all be used with my new computer.

If possible I'd like to make a whole other computer. If that isn't possible for some reason I'll post what I have.

Telling us that you're getting a computer isn't "useless stuff"?

I was asking for to help, with that attitude half the forum shouldn't exist.

Anyways, if anyone's willing to help it'd be nice of you to give me a pm or post here letting me know.

Attitude, get a better one.
Yourself, get over it.

There's not many other ways to say "quit posting useless stuff."

Which components are you hoping of having in this computer for $700?
I have a massive budget for a new desktop I'm building, Going to have two of these.
...but then again, I do animation and graphic design for a business.
Good luck with that computer. :)

Just for the record I'm not the most tech savvy person around when it comes to computer parts. I don't know what makes them good or not. The only 2 things I know anything about are RAM and Hard Drive space.

But just to clear at least one thing up, a 400gb hard drive and 4gb of ram would suffice.

This computer can't run tf2, and my family needs another one because currently this one is the only computer capable of doing anything other than turning on.
