Off Topic / Re: Being gay- Debate. Take it from page 22.

Also, because I either missed it, or it wasn't quite said, could someone re-explain what it is that stop you from having a choice? Coming from curiosity, that is, not arguing that since you may have a choice you shouldn't be allowed to be homoloveual.

Think of it this way; If you wanted to, could you stop loving women altogether and instead decide out of the blue to love men? If you say "yes but why would I," not only is it probably a lie (as you probably couldn't even if you tried), but even if it is truthful gay people could use that same argument to explain why they're gay.

We were supposed to put our chairs up on the tables in Civics today at the end of class so that the janitor could clean (I have Civics 4th period). After putting my chair on the table I turned around and saw this.

Beautiful.

Mateo said that there were other reasons for hating homoloveuality other than religion.

I say that they are just false reasons stemming from a central hatred caused by religion.

Also, RedSaturn is a bad person by everyone besides his mother's standards.

I agree but if I would not have talked about them someone would have undoubtedly called me out for not acknowledging other reasons for gays to not have rights.

2. Nothing comes from it.

I would just like to point out that when 2 men have love they usually do come from it. (This is speculation of course, you'd think if they didn't then they wouldn't want to have love.)

Found it. Oh wait, this is the wrong one ...

Who brought religion into this thread? Why can't we have a rational debate for once?

Because the only 3 reasons anyone can possibly have to hate gays is that they're gross, god said cigarettes need to be viciously stabbed, lit on fire, and thrown into a bottomless pit, or gays cause disease.

And honestly, those 3 reasons are all godawful. Gays don't go around buttloving each other on peoples' front porches. Furthermore, fat people wearing bikini's are gross, no one bans that. Throw up is gross, but people don't go to jail for throwing up. On an even more relevant note, liking men is considered gross, but only men are bitched at for doing that. I mean seriously, that's loveism more than bigotry, and I for one hate beyond all hell loveism towards either love (though note: I never said I'm not a hypocrite).

As for "God says gays are bad"- Really? That's an even worse reason than "they're gross." There is separation of church and state for a reason (at least in the U.S., anyways); to prevent starfishs like you from banning people from doing things because a bunch of old people wrote stuff and said some celestial being made a bunch of rules and now we need to follow them. Furthermore, even if God does say "cigarettes are bad," so what? You aren't a cigarette so that doesn't affect you. Let them be gay together and let God deal with them in the afterlife. If you truly believe in God, take faith in knowing that God will smite their asses (no pun intended) once they die.

Oh, and that whole "gays cause disease" deal is absolute bullstuff. I'm not saying they didn't spread AIDS as I have heard rumors that it started with a gay flight attendant, what I'm saying is that it doesn't matter if gays spread the disease. It's here now and it affects everyone not just gay people. Heteroloveuals don't have some sort of magical immunity. Furthermore I bet if it was rumored to be a heteroloveual who started it no one would be all "man those heteroloveuals! What douchebags."

Come up with new points and stop repeating the same ones over and over again.

(Also, this is not directed at the OP. To me it seems like the OP just disagrees with the lifestyle that gays have.)

Just because it's free monetarily doesn't mean you're not paying for it another way. With the lock you're paying with time spent unlocking / locking, and with the vest you're paying with time spent putting it as well as making you uncomfortable.

And when you don't you're paying by having a chance of dying or getting stolen from.

I'm amazing at any math I've been taught (which is sadly only up until the very basics of trigonometry, which I will begin relearning tomorrow) and so far I'm not bad at the physics I've been taught.

Though until I know what you need to know neither of us will know if I would be of any use.

Like Inverted said, that's just faulty logic. You can't blame someone for taking an optional precaution for something not expected to happen, that's like you not buying "Volcano Insurance" for New York City, then being blamed for not having it when a volcano appears in times square. That's just stupid.

That's like you not accepting free volcano insurance and then whatever the hell else you said.

your handicapped

You said you hate your luck, if you want to you can always make it worse purposefully therefore changing your luck. Always look at the options you have available.

That doesn't work at all. There are logistical problems with using a lock or wearing a vest. What if the man didn't want to deal with that?

The point is that you can not take the blame away from the perpetrator at all and put any of it on the victim.

Then he deals with the risk of getting killed. Besides, it's just as easy to lock your locker as it is unlikely to get shot. The odds even out.

Either way, he probably won't get his ipod back so it doesn't really matter whose fault it is.

What kind of logic is this? The sole responsibility is on the man who pulled the trigger.

If the man was given, for free, the means to prevent his own death and he himself refused that protection, it is that man's own fault. Just as this random kid was given, for free, the means to prevent his own property from theft.
