Drama / Bishop - The worst admin EVER
« on: June 18, 2015, 11:25:08 PM »
I normally don't post in drama. But the circumstances here are too much to ignore.

Bishop was a lowly newbie joining my freebuild. He wanted to load a build, and since I thought he was a decent kid, I gave it to him.

His build was nice, but really badly colored. He claimed it was cause he built with the default colorset, but I'm 100% sure he was just trolling.

He then proceeded to /clearallbricks and destroy over three hours of work by my real admin friends Feline and mlockha, who made this beautiful basketball court. Nobody had a save of the build over that three hour span.
Bishop claimed it was because he confused /clearbricks with /clearmybricks, and when that didn't work he tried /clearallbricks. But he's not that stupid cause he's a former member of AoB, verified by VerticalHorizon and momm3 who were on the server with me.

A punishment was in order, so we put Bishop to the gallows and permabanned him.

Watch out for this guy in your servers. Don't let him have admin or else he'll clear all your bricks, and maybe even decide to ban everyone.

Intended use: Carrier for a dogfight. Flight deck is a little small, but I decided that I might as well take advantage of the fact that blockland planes are easy to take off.

Please suggest things to add! For the carrier, or for the dogfight itself.

Just a survival build I made a couple months ago, never got finished because GCat hasn't fixed his Endless Zombies yet, which I really need for this build to be complete.

The premise is that players start inside a cabin, and have to fight successively harder waves of zombies, buying upgrades and weapons with the points they have. Mystery boxes grant random weapons/items (H&K weapon pack + other doodads), while a workbench found behind the cabin offers building upgrades for the cost of resources (collected by killing zombies). All the events are default, and are idiot/cheater-proofed and can't be exploited (except maybe the workbench; I'll have to implement a better idiotproofing system there)
Players can store extra items in backpacks, and are encouraged to save extra weapons/stuff in there to give to teammates when they die and respawn with nothing. Backpack-stored items are saved on death, but anything equipped is lost.

It's not meant to be an "endless" survival, since there's only limited amount of upgrades and stuff to get. I'd probably cap it at 20 or so waves, with really hard waves towards the end.

If anyone wants the build to tinker with, just ask. I'm not doing anything with it anytime soon.

Sorry for the low-res; couldn't use megashot because of players on server.

write short paragraphs, depictions, environments; build off of other's writing, or browse and critique.

The shower didn't let up, and neither did Sven's mood. Val sat resoundingly like a sponge, and listened to Sven loll on about his falling out with the other linkers. Her dark eyes stayed on her cup, trying to mentally step back out of focus. Her hands gripped the tin loosely, as if her hands were a lone bloom subjected to the fifth night of rain.
A waitress came around and took the empty cup, and her hands were left on the table, tired and empty. One managed to slide off the side, and it took the opportunity to check its adjacent pocket. The hand brushed up against something it had not felt before.
Mildly surprised, Val took a look, and in her hand was a docket, the first she had ever seen in person, let alone touched.
Now awake, she quickly took a look around. The resital's common room was bustling, and she couldn't identify anyone who she would remotely consider to own such an object. Even if the anonymous tipper hadn't left, he or she could easily blend in to the crowd, unseen and unheard. What was more likely was that they already had left.
Val unconsciously took the object into her pocket. Her instinct told her that she wouldn't be able to leave it there and stay out of trouble, but her mind shouted at her to take her long-overdue leave from Sven. Then again, she could leave Sven with it, but she knew enough about him to know that he could convince any Officer that he didn't take it. And since he knew she was there, she would eventually be found.
Someone was searching for her, and she decided she didn't want to know who.
"Th-hey never do anything but that. Saying slander... you running?"
    "Just something I forgot."
"I'll lag up with you tomorrow then... heh, lag. lagguh." Sven dropped into a mild stupor.

Part of the build that has the Italian Cottage that I posted a while back. Lacking in a lot of details, but I'll be adding some rugs/matting and kitchen appliances (traditional-style, using wood burners) and finishing up the terrain around the building.

The lower sections that have windows through the rocks outside surround the lower kitchen in the last photo.

Forum Games / OUTER RIM - dead until the 5th
« on: June 12, 2013, 11:40:23 PM »

yes i have permission from tingalz

Backstory

It is the year 2566.

Amist the conflict between Iconian forces and the Solar Empire, life on the fringe struggles to survive. These outer worlds, although far from the main conflict, are the sites of many Iconian and Solar Empire skirmishes, due to their neutrality. Living in these systems is fraught with danger, not only from Iconian ships, but from pirates, aliens, and rogue humans, all who risk their lives for a few thousand space creds. In these worlds, industry and economy mean little, as the most basic commodies - food, water, medicine, technology - are scarce. As a result, trade and shipping are the most important jobs in the area. Few pirates ever attack these kinds of convoys; partly because of their protection, partly because they know that without these ships, life on these planets will cease to exist.

You are Keith Ducanan, the captain of an expeditionary ship - one of many - sent out by the Regnark Solar System, a near-fringe binary system. Another expeditionary ship, the Torium, has dropped contact with Regnark comms stations after finding something of great importance - your superiors refuse to explain what. You have been tasked to find them.

Ship combat rules are the same as SPACE MARAUDERS, but OUTER RIM
utilizes a few other rules and stats not covered in SPACE MARAUDERS. You can find the additional rules here:
http://www.mediafire.com/view/veo3e6piq63i3c9/outer_rim_space_rules_supplement.pdf

Inventory:
DUAL HELDWIN BOLT PISTOLS and REGNARK DAGGER

You have just received your orders, and are awaiting your newly-appointed crew on the Respite, a Regnark frigate remodeled to be more powerful. Your current destination is beyond the Outer Rim, in the Pisces Belt, the last known location of the Torium. It won't be easy getting out of this solar system; hopefully your superiors have assigned you a decent-enough crew.

Overview
This will function similarly to SPACE MARAUDERS, with differences mainly in ground combat, locations, storyline, character interaction and
character development. New weapons/upgrades are to be expected,  as well as a new system of movement between worlds and systems.
There will be more focus on diplomacy and negotiation, not pure action (though there will be plenty of the latter on hostile worlds).
The time period is one year apart, as well. Please take that into consideration when creating characters; no cross-adventure characters will
be accepted, since it's somewhat hard to be in two different ships at one time.

CHARACTER SUBMISSIONS
Keep characters serious and time-appropriate.
Don't make characters too flashy. Goes with being time-appropriate.
Again, no self-inserts; you can speak for your character when appropriate, however.
No limit to number of characters submitted

It also may be relevant that these people generally should be coming from decent backgrounds and are preferably less rough-necked.
At least, for any diplomatic characters.

Example Sprites
use the smaller ones

Name:
Characteristics:
Backstory:

Character Sheet:
Quote from: Conan

Name: Keith Ducanan
Bio: Quiet, calculating, but intensely focused at times. He is mostly serious and does not engage often in casual talk. Drinks alone, and when inebriated loosens up. Trusts nobody but Welkins, whom he first met on a shipping freighter out on Primo.

Name: Welkins
Bio: Outgoing and casual, but always retains a tone of authority and control. However, he is rather amicable and often builds friendships with crewmembers, out of camaraderie. He respects everyone equally, but can get temperamental when provoked. Only known by his first name. Worked with Keith on and off over the past decade, after Keith rose to captain of his own ship.

Name: HD-152 "Hadrian"

Backstory: A Lacamptu who comes from a moderately wealthy noble family. He joined the crew of the Respite to help with diplomacy, as he has with several other ships in the past.

Characteristics: Is not as physically capable as most lacamptu due to less combat training, but he makes up for it with his mental skills. He is capable of doing quick mathematical calculations and is fluent in most common languages. When diplomacy gets aggressive, he has an ornate suit of armor and a customized revolver, which isn't extremely powerful but still gets the job done. Most of the time, however, he goes without his armor, unless he's going down solely for combat.

Personality-wise, he acts rather blunt and up-tight. His emotions are dulled like most lacamptu, but they are still present.

Derrel "Simba" Gray

Grew up learning his ways around weaponry from his father, who was a marauding pirate. When Derrel turned 17, he decided to not follow in his fathers footsteps and take a more honorable approach, he signed up with a shipping company to act as security. When his ship was destroyed 12 years later, he took up a position on the Respite as a soldier. Mainly uses a heavy repeating laser rifle, and carries a disposable rocket launcher for heavier situations.

Trent "Stride" Connoval

Grew up an orphan. He decided to join the Respite's crew in hope that he might get more or less respect; he was treated like he didn't exist. He excelled and believed in accuracy and lightweight objects. He did not believe in spraying and praying, and was more attached to pistols than heavier guns.
He is frequently ready; he seldom got anything to do in his earlier days, and adapted to the situation.

He is inexperienced in giving orders, but is able to follow them. In addition, he insists on letting other people go ahead for him. That's not a sign to say he's a goddamn wuss, though. He's simply optimistic and wanting to know when's the right time for him to shoot the forget out of people.

Age: 34 and a HALF

Simple, take the above posts' last half-word (artery -> tery or ery) and make an acronym out of it.

Ex:
First Toaster: Arbitrarily Ornate Radial Topographic Architecture
Second Toaster: Easy-Cut Tempered Untreated Reflective Erythrocyte

it doesn't have to make sense; bonus points if it does.
