Modification Help / Re: String replacing and modifying the wrench.....
« on: March 14, 2007, 10:05:47 PM »
I can't guarantee that there isn't more to the code than this, but this is how I imagine the wrench collision to be:

function WrenchProjectile::onCollision(%this,%obj,%col,%fade,%pos,%normal)
{
     %client = %obj.client;
     %client.wrenchbrick = %col;
     messageClient(%client,<msgcallback that opens the client's wrench gui>,'');
}

Also, if you were wanting to limit wrench use, you could change it to something like this:

function WrenchProjectile::onCollision(%this,%obj,%col,%fade,%pos,%normal)
{
     %client = %obj.client;

     if(!%client.nowrench) // <- A property you'd have to assign to the client for wrench permissions.
     {
          %client.wrenchbrick = %col;
          messageClient(%client,<some msgcallback that opens the client's wrench gui>,'');
     }
}

That should be all there is to it.

Mocheeze, you should be a politician.  Also, @ Combine Elite, one word posts might as well be spam.

Anyway, I look forward to what the RTB team has to offer us.

Lol.  I know how to do messageClient.

messageClient(%client,%msgType,%msgString,<variables>);

I'm wanting to know how you message the client with the Self Delete message that has already been defined.  IE, the message with the Self Delete logo.

Modification Help / How-To: messageClient w/ Damage Types

I've created a new Self Delete funtion and I know that there's already a Self Delete damage type, but how do I get the function to message the client after killing himself?

Modification Help / Re: AOE mod
« on: March 13, 2007, 05:10:03 AM »
Well, first of all, it's pointless to make stuff for vanilla any longer.  Second, AOE is real-time strategy game, not a Blockland-type sandbox/first-person shooter.  Third, Garage Games has a separate product for making RTS games.  I can see where you're wanting to go with this, but you might as well declare it now.  This mod, if it sees the light of day, will be an RPG mod.

Ephialtes, I'll have to agree.  Why do you post crap about your own work in topics regarding other people's mods?  It just seems like you're so desperate to prove yourself worthy.  Lame.

Retail Blockland default text colors:

\c1 = BLUE
\c2 = GREEN
\c3 = YELLOW
\c4 = LIGHT BLUE
\c5 = MAGENTA
\c6 = WHITE
\c7 = GRAY
\c8 = BLACK (Also, any \c > 8 are also BLACK.)

Actually, no. The word 'minifig' or 'mini fig' is a contraction or portmanteau of two separate words: 'miniature' and 'figurine'.
