Add-Ons / Re: Output Event - SetAppearance(Setbodyparts - setbodycolors)
« on: August 22, 2008, 11:31:56 PM »
that's because you always use the same appearance... ever since JVS right? back in RTB?

dude doesn't that get boring?

I've used the same appearance since Vanilla.  No, it doesn't get boring.  I chose an appearance I liked and my preference for it hasn't changed, so why should I pick something different?  Anyway, that doesn't have much to do with this topic.  I suppose you could PM me if still have issues with my wardrobe.

Well, I don't like the idea of someone forcing me to change my appearance.  I'm not trying to single out this Add-On.  I feel the same way about forced uniforms in Team DM, etc.

That doesn't mean it's a bad Add-On.  Several events have the potential to be abused.

Trader weren't you and Ephi saying how this could be abused? Ya know, you guys can be quite stupid at times.

I still stand by that statement.  How does that make me stupid?  I think you just like attacking me for no reason.

How does me supporting Rotondo's working version over the version you tried multiple times to get right make me upset that I did not make it?  Wait, don't answer that . . . just leave.

Gikon, you loving suck.  Multiple people have tried at this and failed.  Don't come bitching because Rotondo stole your forgeted-up-Add-On thunder.

Modification Help / Re: Invincible player mod.

It's easiest just to package projectile::onDamage really

You're an idiot.  Packaging a damage method is in no way the best means of making an invincible player type.  Just tagging the datablock with isInvincible = 1 will work just fine.  Don't try to help someone when you don't know what you're talking about.  Damn it, I have no tolerance for "experts".

He's probably using findLocalClient() to get the host.  Problem is, findLocalClient() returns 0 on dedicated servers, pretty much indicating that there is no local client . . . which is technically true for a dedicated.  There should be a way to get the server IP and compare that to a client's IP but I can't remember it off the top of my head.

A question that is not only rhetorical, but paradoxical.

Perhaps, but when someone asks if you can read and you're clearly old enough to have learned such a skill, they're usually asking if you possess the ability to read for understanding.  Plenty of people can "read", but comprehension seems to be an elusive quality.

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Input Event: onButtonPressAmmount

"Buttons" don't really exist, and you could probably achieve the effect you want through clever usage of onPlayerTouch with some delays and event toggles.

Yes, but Gikon doesn't accept anything that puts his creations lower then what he originally intended. Notice his other accounts with a big mod thread which he removed the first post and got the last word in.

Jookia Propaganda: commonly used to start E-drama when it is not needed, But a jookia needs to feed on e-drama to live.

Personally, I don't know why people can't find a good name and stick with it.  Idiots in this community play musical chairs with their names like they've got an identity crCIA.

You're Gikon and he's Jookia, and all this Nero Mich / Dyed Brownie ice cream is pandaing handicapped.

Look at other scripts to figure out how things work.

This is how I learned pretty much everything I know about TorqueScript.

I don't understand why people feel the need to take something nice like the Tank and hack it to death.  Make your own stuff, people.
