Off Topic / Music that will fit my last day of school "rampage"
« on: June 06, 2015, 03:15:20 AM »
Give me the suggestions for stuff to play while wearing a gas mask, M1 helmet, black dress shirt, blue striped tie, and handing bananas/potatoes to random teachers. (lets not forget the war paint)

Yeah, I probably won't last 5 minutes in school but I need something to listen too while one of my friends wears a Germany cosplay and Me wearing my random outfit.

I need something energetic, loud, and memorable to blast while we do this stuff at the end of the day.

Tomorrow will signify the 71st anniversary of Operation Neptune or just "D-Day". This amphibious invasion would result in the end to Fascist Germany's grip in France. Airborne troops were dropped in to secure intact bridges overnight and by 6:30 the Invasion had begun and troops were streaming onto the beachheads that were code named Utah, Gold, Omaha, Juno, and Sword beach.

An allied force of 156,000 men faced a Axis force of 50,350+ and the end result was 425,000 men dead, missing, or wounded.

Yeah, I have done a few methods to try and not make it pixelated and in GIMP it looks fine but once I upload it gets pixelated at the edges. This has annoyed me for awhile and I just need a way to make it smoother.

Off Topic / Firearms thread: FoTD, StG-44
« on: May 29, 2015, 09:28:39 PM »
also someone needs to make a weapon megathread please

Firearm of the Day:
StG-44
Also known as the MP-44 the STG-44 can be classified as the first successful assault rifle. Firing the 7.92x33mm Kurz round the StG-44 was issued with the MP-40 in the Eastern theatre from 1943 to the end of WWII. The StG influenced designs ranging from the Russian AK-47 and the American M-16, if it wasn't for this rifle we may have never seen some of the most iconic rifles in history post-WWII

Weapons thread

Throughout history Men have fought each other over religion, territory, greed, and many other reasons but no battle can be fought without weapons. These tools of war and recreation can be seen in many forms.

Categories:

Firearms:
Firearms are a fairly new invention in the terms of warfare, with the invention of gunpowder by the Chinese ushered in a age of powder and lead.

Rifles:
Rifles range from your old fashion Kentucky long rifles to modern day AK-12s. Rifles are called as such by the rifling in their barrels which put a spin on the projectile which increases range and accuracy.

Handguns:
The smallest class of firearms on this list. Generally firing smaller projectiles than a Rifle these firearms are very popular within the personal defense community for their concealability, light weight, and light recoil.

Smoothbore:
This category includes most shotguns and Muskets. Muskets dominated the 1600s and 1700s and were used into the 1800s but were soon phased out by Rifles. Shotguns can be seen today and are very popular in the hunting community for their reliability and multiple ammunition types.

Firing mechanisms:

Wheellock

Matchlock

Flintlock

Percussion

Firing pin ( also demonstrating a gas mechanism as well )

Off Topic / Help me identify this ARTILLERY shell.
« on: May 26, 2015, 07:48:23 PM »
My grandfather recently passed away and for a remembrance my mother gave me one of the shells he had from Destroyers he was stationed on. He had 3 and I received the biggest of the three.

The thing weighs about 5lbs more like 12lbs and I've measured the base and length. 3 inch base and 9 inch height.

I was dragged out of bed at 7:14AM yesterday becasue we were going to Kings dominion, normal people would be excited but I was grouchy and hated the idea. Why did I hate the idea? Well, lets just say Acrophobia is not very fun on a rollercoaster. We stopped at a Golden Corral to eat breakfast ( Yuck ) and I got me some Wursts and eggs. My wursts were cool and pink in the center and my eggs were goopy so I didn't eat. We finally arrived around 10am so the park was just opening and letting people in, parts of the park were still closed, fountain wasn't on, rides were still being tested, etc. I went on this thing that spun you around and stuff and it was not very pleasant, I was hyperventilating and paralyzed. Around 12pm I recovered and gathered my masculinity and decided to ride a coaster called the "Rebel" Yell". They strapped me in and stuff and when we were going up the hill I started sweating and my throat got dry. Right as we dropped I started yelling "HOLY stuff" over and over then started singing "Highway to Hell", and by singing I mean screaming at the top of my voice.

It is around 3 now and my sister, her boyfriend ,and my father decide to ride something called "The Berserker". It is this kind of pirate ship thing that spins you around so I sat this out. Their ride got stuck so they were still locked in for almost 20 minutes. Nothing else happened throughout teh day for me because sitting is not very fun.

My sister and I got sunburnt but she got the worst of it, I didn't get much except my neck and some of my arms.

/discuss things that go wrong at "Amusement" parks

TL:DR, I had undercooked food for breakfast, rode a rollercoaster and sung AC/DC, Ride got stuck.

Oh yeah, and the "Rebel Yell" looks like a snake

I'm looking for some decent HISTORICAL weapons Around $200, and I'll worry about uniforms and such later. Just looking for Rifles and such.

I'm going for a US Infantryman or German Infantryman primarily although I may experiment with Russia and such. If possible I'd like to see the rifles having bayonet capabilities ( of course it'll be rubber )

Gas or Electric are fine, I'm just looking for a Rifle and handgun

I'll accept anything as long as it is at least from The Gulf War

Off Topic / snake inspection day (?)
« on: May 17, 2015, 11:48:14 PM »
I was just recently told about this. This better not be a real thing or else my school attendance will suffer. Something about gym teachers inspecting your foreskin and such.

Probably a thing to get a rise out of me but I'm curious
