I don't know why people complain about the size of the map.

It's all about hours of gameplay for me, and Skyrim has tons of that.

no, but when you put in the face that there are thousands of objects with a similar lack of physics it becomes so.
If you are going to be nit picky and add physics to a see saw which the player has no reason to be standing on, you have to add the physics to everything.

They could make another game that encompasses all of cyrodiil, but they couldn't really do it without making individual zones for each province.
With modern graphics anyway, Arena did it, but arena didn't have 3 dimensional models and stuff.
