I am Hades, God of the Underworld and bringer of Hellfire unto those heathen humans that dare defy my being!

I constantly carry a metal soup spoon with me. Just in case. :o

You guys are sitting here talking about your feelings and how bad they're hurt when you kill someone in a videogame. The only thing that comes to mind is;
Artificially intelligent NPCs have feelings, too, Beachbum. Don't disregard them. :c

The Titanic sunk on the 15th at 2:00 am. :u

It did hit the iceberg later tonight, though, at around 11:30.

You know your from Blockland when you stop yourself from saying "I don't care" in fear of getting banned. :o

Jaywalkers?
Crap. Im screwed.
Jaywalking is a gateway crime. Today, it is illegally crossing the street, tomorrow, beating someone to death with a blunt object!

I was at walmart the other day
This is the first and foremost issue, methinks...

But it isn't legal to beat a child in most places. Are you sure she was actually hitting him? Strange as it sounds, maybe you were mistaken. If not, then she simply got away with it by virtue of not getting caught. People ignored it, no one said anything. Same thing happens with thieves, murderers, arsonists, jaywalkers, etc. on occasion, but that doesn't make it legal. :o

e. all of the above
DAH ashdjcfsrhndukf

That's a loving stupid ideology to take and you know it. The only reason you even entertain this lunatic's ideas is because you desperately uphold your reputation of being kind and neutral when really all you're doing is mulling over the arguments of a man who has no desire to actually convince anyone of anything, but instead wants to seem edgy and profound by disagreeing with everything.
The only reason I was upholding Taboo's 'argument' (Though I was really holding up a general philosophy more than anything.)  was because he held a valid point and you shot it down quickly because you thought that it was sadistic and because of his own individual actions. I'm not trying to make an issue or convince you of anything, just presenting it in a way that maybe you'll understand better or accept more from a 3rd party.

My own beliefs aside, the point of view, at least that I'm talking about, is that what happens with one's immediate experiences can be more important than worldly happenings. And, although they both have the same impact, a more lasting effect and a stronger change can be made locally better than internationally (more often than not). This isn't unreasonable, since most humans can only measure by what is in front of them. It also isn't unreasonable to act more so with local interests than worldly interests. Most people do, anyway, whether they realize it or not. A person is usually more prone to act in interest of their own home than the land of somebody's across the world that they never met.

And although it would have probably been more consistent with the ideal had Taboo just left this thread be, at the same time you shouldn't dismiss the entire thought because he happens to have a derivative of it. Disagree with it, fine, but try to understand it as well. We learn better that way, I think. It helps develop our own views if we know those around us...

redundancy doesn't excuse this kind of sadistic ideology.
What do you mean? Sadistic implies he wants innocent children to be harmed and enjoys the idea. I think the approach he is taking is more so indifference. I guess it goes with the old maxim that if the world won't stop for us, why should we stop for it. And though I agree that ignoring happenings in the world will rarely lead to good, that it is important to learn from the world around you, and that empathy must be extended to all members of mankind, at the same time we have to understand that not everything can be solved by a matter of desire. And while we shouldn't always wait for others to solve issues, we have to decide what issues we approach.

I understand why you feel strongly about this Seventh, I do. And for the most part, I agree with you. But at the same time, you have to understand that others feel differently and that is the nature of the world. Sometimes it may be sadistic or malicious, but in this case it really isn't. Taboo's view, in moderation (Which he seems to have just fine), is completely valid and can even be argued in the extreme.

'Not sure if you're being sarcastic or just you.... :o

On reflection, maybe you thought I was being passive aggressive. I knew a should have added a ":o" somewhere in there. :U

Then again, maybe you didn't, and I misread your comments. So torn...

Although I disagree with Taboo, what seems to be his philosophy isn't unlike that of many others. Sure, he's more open about it, but at the end of the day, what are a number of people who watch this video going to do? Yes, it increases awareness, but so what? Everyone in the world can be aware of something, but that doesn't mean anything will change. Many probably won't even remember this until it makes it into the mainstream news a few weeks from now and even then it is a long shot they will be anymore mindful to it. Taboo simply decides to exist in the world he immediately experiences, instead of being a bystander to a larger spectrum every once in a while to say "How sad" and then continue on. And as long as he doesn't try to be hip and edgy about it, there isn't anything wrong with that view.

In fact, it can be a very good way to live, considering it enables you to concentrate more on your community, which in turn gives to those around it, which gives to those around them, and eventually to the world. Peace within levels, I suppose....

That being said, it is also important to acknowledge the existence of other human beings and their ability to feel, even those you may never see. Empathy is essential to living, after all. Otherwise, much of what you said is perfectly valid as well. It boils down to a matter of opinion, really....
