Except Christmas isn't Jesus's Birthday, it's the Winter Solstice.
You can thank christards for being uninformed that their religion is an amalgamation of assimilated beliefs.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_solstice
I know it isn't Jesus's birthday, and I know the origins of it's chosen date. A commemoration, really, created as a rather minor holiday. Many early Christians didn't even believe in celebrating Christmas (It didn't even exist for several hundred years after Christianity was established), and even some today still don't.

Regardless, Christmas is certainly a good example of a sharing of cultures - as it should, of course, stay (As you stated). Whether the culture be religious or secular, Eastern or Western, or whatever so else may stand - bringing about those ideas of selflessness, generosity, and Love that we should exhibit not just during the season, but all year 'round. c:

God is omnipotent (he has to be because he created an infinite universe) and is therefore capable of tracking every interaction and state of every particle in the universe at any time. Your life is predetermined as the existence of omniscience requires.
He knows every path that may happen, that doesn't mean He decides that on which you travel. From what I have gathered so far, the only ones whom have this predetermined absolute fate are those who worked directly for God. And also mind you, God may not constantly used His omnipotence, therefore He may not be constantly omniscient if so they are intertwined. Once again though, if you can find a quote just cite it here. I don't believe all that the Bible depicts - I'm partially right now speaking on terms of it for the sake of learning.

But just going by my own personally Faith, God knows everything after it happens. Certainly He can have an idea of what will happen, or manipulate something to happen, but as for concrete knowledge, eh. But time, I suppose, is much different for Him.

Take it like this if you built a brick house and one brick fell out you wouldn't judge it, or the house. You made it, it was your fault.
"DAMNED ARE YE, FOUL BRICK, FOR ACCOSTING I IN THY IMPERFECTIONS"

:D?

Hm? :o

The only reason that book is even "sacred" is because people like you believe in it so much you completely overlook all of the impossibilities, inconsistencies, hypocrisy, and just generally handicapped stuff that is in it just to have some sort of basis for your faith. If you want to believe in a deity, do it, but referencing an EXTREMELY sketchy text that is most probably fiction, as fact, is stupid and ignorant.
Isn't Wizard an Atheist? Or did I miss something? o.o

It doesn't matter what you "believe" the bible says outright that your life IS predestined and god knows exactly the stuff that's going down. He knows that Otis is a child enthusiast and mwhatsisface is going to rape some friend.
Could you quote it for me. To the best of my knowledge, predestination was a part of the protestant reform, in which it entailed that God decided whether each man was saved or damned (in it's most simple sense). For Him to be fully omniscient (But not have predetermined), this would differ, as He would then follow your future as determined - in a way - by your own accord and God would judge you by this. While similar, they are two different ideas.

There's no loving way the earth filter thing works. God is omnipotent and therefore omniscient or at the very least near-omniscient and knows BEFORE HE CREATES YOU exactly what you'll do in life. You can't argue free will because choices are made due to outside stimuli which can be predicted exactly by any being with infinite processing power. Yo u also can't make the garden of eden argument because god knew before he even created eve that she'd forget around with apples.
Assuming you believe in predestination, that is. But should one, then yes, it wouldn't make any sense for Earth to be a filter. :o

FYI different countries have their own Santa, but they all serve the same purpose. In Japan, Santa is a demon that eats children who are bad.
._.

I always knew there was something wrong with the Japanese. Now I can pinpoint it. Merrymaking, children eating demons on Jesusday.

You make it all sound so pretty, but unfortunately there is no way to prove God.  Skeptics, such as myself, will never believe.  In order to believe in God, you need to have faith.

I can't have faith in something completely unfounded, unfortunately.
Then don't? :o
