Jazz was always my favorite style of music. Still is. Always will be. Such a diverse style, too. :o

Thanks to commercialization, Christmas is for people who want free stuff.
Well you can't spell "Christmas" without "Profit"!

All seriousness, though, it's a shame that such has come to be on a number of levels, but I think most people who celebrate Christmas understand it is a bit more than just receiving.

Very symbolic tradition, gifts, that is. As a child, it is all about receiving what you want from others. As an adult, it is about an equal exchange between friends and family. And as a parent, it is about giving your child what will make them happy, if only it be for one day. Materialism brings everyone together!

It's religious because it celebrates the day that Christians believe that Jesus was born.
It commemorates the day Jesus was born, but wasn't the day. It's date had to do with the Church, at the time, trying to ease Pagan converts into Christianity and to shift focus away from the Winter Solstice celebrations. Over time it and its traditions have become controversial to Christians and non-Christians alike (Perhaps not even over time. Since its creation many saw it as a false holiday). It is a conglomerate of traditions and beliefs that have become the beautiful ball of happiness that we know today. It is the perfect example of what can happen when, over time, people decide to embrace culture instead of rejecting anything unfamiliar. It is irreligious, but filled with Faith; Christmas is a holiday for anyone who can understand togetherness, kindness, and Love.

But how would you feel if your school, radio stations, every public building, etc, started Hanukkah celebrations everywhere, and not acknowledging Christmas?
Badly, because Christmas is awesome and Hanukkah is the holiday of giving away the 7 cheapest things on sale at Bloomingdale's. :c

I remember when gas was a nickle and you had to walk ten miles uphill in the snow to get to school! Both ways! In the Summer! Without any shoes!

But no one was hurt and they are on generally good terms with authorities in the area...?

There is another article that says they apologized and took everything very seriously. They have insurance, I'm sure, so the damages will be covered. :o
On a side note, though, they were testing to see if a cannonball could breach a castles walls (Seen here)

I wonder what they determined the answer to be.  :cookieMonster:

If I were one of them there, I'd simply lay on the floor with my arms out, legs out, and go "I'm unarmed, take me to jail. No need for a trial with this."

Suprisingly Accurate

An essay on the Blockland Forums

Issues surrounding the Blockland Forums can never be over brown townysed. While it has been acknowledged that it has an important part to play in the development of man, there are just not enough blues songs written about the Blockland Forums. It has the power to shock the easily lead, trapped by their infamous history. Crossing many cultural barriers it still draws remarks such as 'I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole' and 'i'd rather eat wasps' from those politicaly minded individuals living in the past, obviously.  Hold onto your hats as we begin a journey into the Blockland Forums.

Social Factors

Society is a human product. The immortal and indispensable phrase ‘honesty is the best policy’ [1] could have been making a reference to the Blockland Forums, but probably not. Both tyranny and democracy are tried and questioned. Yet the Blockland Forums helps to provide some sort of equilibrium in this world of ever changing, always yearning chaos.

When one is faced with people of today a central theme emerges - the Blockland Forums is either adored or despised, it leaves no one undecided. It grows stonger every day.

Economic Factors

Our world is driven by supply and demand. We will begin by looking at the Spanish-Armada model, a complex but ultimately rewarding system.

National Debt
                     the Blockland Forums

There is no longer a need to argue the importance of the Blockland Forums, it is clear to see that the results speak for themselves. The question which surfaces now is, how? Seemingly the national debt looms over the Blockland Forums this cannot be a coincidence. The economic policy spectrum is seeing a period of unprecedented growth.

Political Factors

Politics was once a game featuring competitors from elite classes. Comparing the general view of politics held by the poor of the west with those of the east can be like comparing the Blockland Forums now, and its equivalent in the 1800s.

Consider this, spoken at the tender age of 14 by the famous political Aaron H. Amster 'Political idealists must ideally deal, for I daily list my ideals politically.' [2] I argue that his insight into the Blockland Forums provided the inspiration for these great words. It would be wise to approach the subject with the thought that 'if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all'. However this can lead to missing out important facts.

Is the Blockland Forums politically correct, in every sense? Each man, woman and to a lesser extent, child, must make up their own mind.

Conclusion

How much responsibility lies with the Blockland Forums? We can say that the Blockland Forums has, and will continue to be a major building block for the world in which we live. It sings a new song, brings glamour to an unglamorous time and always chips in.

I will leave the last word to the famous Elvis Astaire: 'I love the Blockland Forums? Yes! Hurray for the Blockland Forums!' [3]
