I've been really thinking about this for a year now. When I get the money, and the opportunity to do it, should I fly to America and buy a house there?

I'll trade houses with you, always wanted to live in England for a bit.

Also, do they ever host PAX elsewhere?

You missed the fact that Badspot is making money from the game, too.

If you misunderstood me, I meant, a constantly-up freebuild server hosted by Ephi would most likely drive the cost up because he would have to buy service from a server.

Badspot rents a server to host his freebuild I believe. Of course he makes money from the game, that's not the point.

From my perspective, do whatever you want, since I have little/no idea what you are going on about with all the script.

Just make it give machine guns ammo...Rotondo's fails in that area.

His fails on many guns.

I think it's because some guns (For example: Ephi's Shotgun) have a spread script and when firing, they do not use the default "click and just one projectile comes straight out of the barrel."

Many would say Notepad but if you're looking for the easiest program to script with, that would be Torsion. It's a wonderful IDE that does many magical things. It practically does the scripting for you!* Check it out, it costs money but there is a free trial. I loved it while I could use it, but easier Blockland scripting is not worth $30-$40. Have fun!

*no it doesn't 

Edit: also, scripting is not a general thing you learn. In scripting and in programming, there are many different languages that have their own unique syntax that you have to learn. It gets easier after your first language.

How about a building server exclusive to players who have donated?

That would probably drive the cost up more, unless Ephialtes has a spare computer that he wouldn't  mind constantly running a dedicated server on. He would have to pay to host the building server as well as the RTB servers.

I'm quite sure that's what Badspot does with his Freebuild server.

I like the idea. I wouldn't be very happy if I had to pay $100+/month for a server. It's only fair that we (the users) have the opportunity to help you pick up the bill for the service we take for granted.

I like how you're keeping it a free service too, I don't (and I hope you don't) want to see RTB become a pay-to-use service for everyone.
