I don't understand why you would post this on a forum. Really stupid if you ask me.

I also don't understand why it's so hard to get A's. I usually get A's across the board and still manage to do a lot of other stuff.

Edit:
How do you read with someone? :s
Book clubs lol

Modification Help / Re: findClientByName.
« on: August 29, 2010, 12:06:05 PM »
is it really necessary to use getPlayerName or could I just do %client.name
This is the preferred way by Badspot to get the player's name, it was in an update a while back. He said to use it instead of %Client.name.

I would use %Client.getPlayerName() instead of %Client.name just because Badspot said to and you know... he can change stuff whenever he wants...

I was on a server with a BL_ID in the player list of -1

It was weird. I think I screenshotted it.

General Discussion / Re: How long have you played Blockland?
« on: August 29, 2010, 11:50:26 AM »
JVS used to stand for Jedi Versus Sith, so I'm guessing the old JVS was something about Star Wars?
I think it stands for absolutely nothing. I think Trader said that once when there was a big controversy around it for some reason.

Don't know for sure, maybe you're right.

Also, I've had a key since November 11, 2008. So around V9-V10

But my friends showed me Blockland back in the pre-1k days.

Zombie Duker(900-something)
and
GoldenBoy(809)

Should've joined then...

I've known about it for  like 3-4 years, didn't start really playing 'til almost 2 years ago.

This topic has been derailed completely
It's like we started going the other way... on a different track...

It wouldn't matter if it did.

I like life, eternal unconsciousness is not something I and most normal human beings look forward to.

But you wouldn't be conscious to know you were unconscious so it wouldn't matter if you look forward to it or not.

It's like taking a killshot bullet. Just a quick slap on the forehead and then nothing. Not much pain, but I wouldn't know, I've never been shot in the head before.

This world is so god damn dumb.

For example, a 29 year old man is sentenced to life in prison for killing his wife and 2 children.

That's like 33,000 a year.
Just shoot the mother forgeter and be done with it.

Or the fact people in my family can't get a job because they don't speak loving Spanish in an English speaking country.

Why the forget should I change my life for some damn beaner who decided to hop the fence?

This but minus the mistakes

Modification Help / Re: What does crash(); do
« on: August 28, 2010, 01:57:13 PM »
My guess is that crash() imports some C libraries with syntax errors in them and stuff, and thus crashes when failing to import them.
No.

Modification Help / Re: [Tutorial] Making a Gui
« on: August 28, 2010, 01:53:48 PM »
But how do I parent it? Do I add Parent = "blah"; to the code?
No, instead of guiname.add(newcontrol) do existingparent.add(newcontrol);

Existing parent could be any GUI control anywhere

Add-Ons / Re: Stronger Frag Grenade
« on: August 28, 2010, 01:42:26 PM »
I never called you an idiot. I aprreciate that you tried to improve one of my addons but I still would much rather have updated it myself.

I'll get to making this stronger later. I have 3 addons that I plan on fixing and revamping so far so for now, just keep this here. Close it when I officially update my add-on please.

Add-Ons / Re: Stronger Frag Grenade
« on: August 27, 2010, 10:55:47 AM »
this is much beter, but it still needs more shrapnel and range. make it like 3x shrapnel, 2x damage, and 3x range.

Along with 3X the lag. Seriously people, I believe I already made this spew up to 30 shrapnel bits! 90 pieces would just be ridiculous. I mean, I can understand raising the damage of the shrapnel, but making it spawn more shrapnel would just be unnecessary. The Cooking system was not only added to make the look, feel, and functionality of the grenade more realistic, but to also make the grenade more effective. In order to maximize the damage caused by one frag grenade, you must not only aim correctly, but time the throw correctly as well.

The He-Grenade was designed to blow up small buildings and kill everyone inside.
This grenade is meant to be much less powerful, providing a much more balanced grenade when used with other popular weapons.

You're an idiot. The point of the fragmentaion grenade is the fragments that do the damage, NOT the explosion. If you do no damage with it you obviously just suck at grenade throwing.
That last part in bold is basically what this entire post says. In order to use this grenade effectively, use the cooking system to make enemies unable to get away in time, use it to make the grenade explode right next to a group of enemies.

Do that and you will see that this grenade was originally highly-effective.

Edit:
I will make the original grenade have stronger shrapnel, but I can't update my original post because it's too old. I'll make the one on RTB more powerful, and seeing as we have an RTB subforum, people will probably download from there anyway

Modification Help / Re: Could someone give me a program?
« on: August 19, 2010, 02:58:40 PM »
Not easily and it will probably get screwed up in the process anyway so I would go with Blender personally, but Milkshape and Shaper allow for DTS exporting as well. Any of the 3 will work.

You could technically use SketchUp, but it will take longer and you will either have to hope to God that your model doesn't get messed up, or learn to use Blender/Milkshape/Shaper anyway in order to fix your models.

Blender is free
Milkshape costs $20 - $30 (Somewhere around there, but there is a free 30-day trial)
Shaper costs money (don't know how much, check website, and there is a trial for this one as well)

As I said before, I would go with Blender, but you have to download and install the dts exporter plug-in as well as Python in order for Blender to work/export properly.

Edit:
There is another modeling program that I think can export DTS models, can't remember the name but I don't think you would want the program anyway, it costs around $1,200 (I can only remember that it is very expensive, considering that you're not professionally modeling for an actual game); It's for Pros
