shop system for cosmetics: always good in every context

but now to get tricky, shop systems that affect gameplay:

round based gamemodes that can't be dragged out forever (ie capture based gamemodes like CTF or capture point)
this is the biggest failure point I've seen done in blockland over and over
 +Tiered weapons
  ->points MUST reset at the end of each round or after a set of rounds
  ->purchases MUST reset at the end of each round or after a set of rounds
If you use a tiered weapon system and points do not reset or the game can last forever you've just made the game fun for only the people who have joined 3 hours ago and have all the best weapons versuses a bunch of a new players with the worst weapons
In general anytime you have tiered purchases, everything needs to reset at some point to set everyone back to the same level

the only acceptable way to maintain purchases between rounds is if you are purchasing equal tiered classes/weapons, thus you are rewarding your players for playing for longer by allowing them to play in different ways, and giving them clear secondary and long term goals to work towards that are separate from the actual gameplay, I don't think I've ever seen this actually implemented in blockland but I've seen it implemented in free to play games

is it a perfect option?
it has its caveats and downsides compared to doing it the normal way but you have to work within the current known limitations

but you should never outright say something isn't possible

I've done this with the my helicopter minigun, you control it without being mounted to it, also allows you to limit what angles it can aim at (along the yaw axis, not pitch)

How do I execute prefs? never done it
step 1: open up the console
if you are hosting on the same client you are playing on press the grave accent/tilde key (`/~) which on a standard US keyboard is to the left of the 1
step 2: copy and paste one of the prefs into the console entry, then add an equals sign after it followed by true/false and then a semi colon, this is shown below, you can also substitute 1 or 0 for true and false respectively

step 3: slam that enter key

once you set a variable like this it will immediately take effect, and as long as you close blockland by pressing the quit button they should persist for next time

several years back the source code for 1.4 was leaked somewhere i believe zeblote gave this to me
there are some very small differences between this version and the blockland version, not including the stuff that badspot added/changed

Hi i am swollow am very sick rightnow

here is mayber best saver machine written for lbockland

type /rollback to see a list of saves you can roll back to
type /rollback # to rollback to a particular time listed in the rollback list
type /forceAutoSave to forcefully do a save
type /stopAutoSave stops auto saving... do the /forceAutoSave to start it again

basically... it save things and if you accidently delete something or decide you don't want it you can do a save rollback which will remove anything that is different in the current build compared to the save file, this includes everything all properties color emitters events etc etc etc if it doesn't match the save file, that brick will go away and it will then be replaced by the different property know brick in the save file, obviously if a brick currently on the server is not in the save file being rolled back to.. that one will be delete also

if you want to change the auto save speed change this variable at the top of the file saver.cs ($swol_autoSaveDelay) and variable $swol_autoSaveMax is how many backup saves are kept

there is like functionality to save as a special save file that is much more compact, can compress the brick ui and print ui table, and compress positional data and stuff, some coder either figure it out and post it or wait for me not to be sick

i want to release this now or i feel like i will never end up releasing it

save speeds are optimized for my, ssd might kill on hdd idk lol
