Just search around for a first-party wired Xbox 360 controller. As soon as you plug it in to your PC it will recognize it and you'll be able to use it as a gamepad.
mostly everything at biglots is either highly underrated or a piece of stuffThe Big Lots around me used to have underrated PC games, now all they have are stuff wii games :(

I just said forget it and went for the USB 360 controller. It's $30, but at least it works :/
