>100 is cheapish
You shouldn't have too much trouble finding something in that price range, just search craigslist and ebay for "cassette field recorder" every once in a while until something comes up that fits the bill. There's a working Marantz PMD101 for about $30 on ebay right now, although if stereo operation is something you want I think that particular model might only record in mono. To get audio into it from your computer all you'll need is a 3.5mm to RCA cable which can be bought from Amazon for around $5-$10 depending on the length you want it at.

Anyone know any portable/cheap-ish tape recorders where I just simple plug it into my pc or something like that

Need it for some experimental stuff
Are you talking about one with USB? Because so far all the cassette players I've heard of with USB connectivity were pretty stuffty and only carried playback audio over the cable. What's your definition of "cheap-ish"?

remembering old blockland friends I haven't talked to in years, especially like skelolego and vegetarian zombie or whatever his name was that I don't even know what happened to them
This, but with roblox friends from back in the day as well. I was actually able to track most of them down online a few months ago but I'm afraid to contact them out of the blue after like 7-8 years of no contact because that would probably be weird as hell. King of Losers is really the only blockland use I wasn't able to find; wonder what ever happened with him.

birds eye view 3D LEGO game that allowed you to customize your character, and roam around an open world. (Can someone tell me the name of that game?)
Lego Universe?

visual evidence of my words being modified without my consent. im taking this to court against badspot to sue him for defamation for portraying me as a softie instead of the hardcore motherforgeter i truly am.

why kpop instead of jpop? what's the draw? i don't understand why anyone would prefer some korean basic bitch belting out some bargain bin bing-bong bullstuff over a superior japanese idol with an angelic voice and unmatched beauty.

It's about as handicapped and stuff sounding as a Chihuahua with diarrhea.
yo hit me w/ the album hookup on that i'm down w/ avant-garde noise compositions

(since we're on the subject of hardware layouts and this thread could use a bump)

Designed a rack case for some of my equipment (click image for more pics); Hopefully I'll get around to building it eventually. I've got a rack-mount mixer being delivered later today and nowhere to put it, so that will hopefully encourage enough to actually build this thing sometime soon.

This is all it was

good or bad, this is what it was. and there was no ads back then so people did this out of pure desire, which is baffling
classic collection of gifs. i can remember that one from don hertzfeldt's rejected at 0:30 was actually used as an avatar by someone on here way back like 2006; wish i could remember who it was.

it was nice when youtube was in its infancy and people just threw stuff up on there with no expectation or intention for it to go viral. a far cry from now where you'll see people shamelessly shilling their profiles on various social media platforms as a reply to their own post once it gains traction.

Off Topic / where hath the good memes gone?
« on: May 09, 2018, 09:28:29 PM »
late last night during a sugar high-induced bout of insomnia i laid awake in bed contemplating the many philosophical questions posed by modern life and eventually my quadruple-digit-IQ brain brought me to the subject of contemporary internet culture and the ever-increasing rate at which memes are born and subsequently laid to rest. during deep thought about why it seems that we have been existing in an accelerated meme hell reality for the past few years, i arrived at a startling revelation:

the ease of accessibility to the internet enabled by the rise of smartphones and social media provided the mechanism by which lowest-common-demoninator african americans were able to quickly dominate and inevitably decimate online meme culture with low-quality content (dabbing, yeet, emoji spam, deep fried images (stuffpics), butchered english (aave) and associated slang terms (thicc, bruh, dat, swag, fam, bae, boi, etc.), real brother hours, bass boosted edits/distorted bass hit) in the latter half of the 2010s.

what happened to quality memes such as the ragefaces and lolcats of yore? why is there no concerted effort to bring new wonderful memes of this caliber into existence so as to purify internet culture, return it to its once-great state, and provide a respectable and wholesome online experience for generations to come?

we must secure the existence of traditional internet culture and a future for quality memes.
