Off Topic / I have had it with my ISP.
« on: October 18, 2011, 09:30:04 PM »
Congratulations, Bell, you're the worst ISP in Canada, possibly the world!

My family is promised 5-6 Mb/s download, and .66 Mb/s upload, with a 60GB bandwidth limit. We are not getting what we pay for AT ALL (bandwidth wise.) One of your technicians told me that you'd have this bullstuff fixed by mid September, but there has been scarcely ANY improvement at all with my latency, or download speed. What I do not understand is that my parents are overpaying ($56.90 /month, before taxes) for ABSOLUTE stuff. There are nothing but bad reviews on DSL reports that aren't Bell employees in disguise. Please help me convince my parents that this ISP is horrible and we should switch.

tl;dr I'm tired of Bell's DSL service and my parents are being completely unreasonable that we're overpaying for a horrible service.

Save me please. :panda:

Off Topic / Is my wireless AP dying?
« on: October 12, 2011, 06:15:22 PM »
Current one is a D-Link WBR-2310, with 802.11b/g (lol it's crap,) and I can't get that good of a connection with it currently (even when I'm wired to it.) It's been alive (not constantly powered on) for about 2 or 3 years now.
I have had it with my current ISP and this AP, I scarcely get 15 kb/s through the network to another computer (little alone the internet,) and I seriously think it's dying.

Is this a sign I need a new AP or is it normal for it to do this?

Off Topic / I need co-operation from someone with XP Media Center.
« on: August 16, 2011, 09:35:49 PM »
Recently people have been asking around the forum for the default theme that comes with XP Media Center, I was recently thinking about taking the theme from the OS, and implementing it to other editions of XP.
Well, there's a problem with that, I don't own it. So I'm asking for help from anyone using Windows XP Media Center edition. Would you please add your C:\Windows\Resource folder into a zip and PM it to me (if possible?)
It contains the theme files for XP Media Center edition and will help me in my efforts.

If you're cautious, just zip the Luna folder inside the folder.

Go look for yourself.

Drama / Tawm's Brony - Torturing builders is fun!
« on: July 08, 2011, 05:39:28 PM »
I came on this server to be greeted with a kick (courtesy of Tingalz, the resident Super-Admin.) Apparently he meant to kick someone else (the only people on were me, Tingalz, and someone else.) Tingalz clearly meant to kick me, as he called me dumb about 10 seconds later. As I was proceeding to build a house I was working on, he comes over and crashes a plane to it (cite image 1.) This made me unable to make a door open and close (what else does a door really do.) After ignoring it and working on the shrubs, another resident admin, Doomcop, comes on, to greet me with a kick. By now I'm clearly pissed off, as I only wished to finish that house and be done with it. Again with the bullstuff under "he meant to kick someone else." Everyone there was an admin at the time, who the hell was he trying to kick? Me. After finally finishing the shrubs, I decide to make the front door. After dislodging the plane, and exclaiming that to the server (big mistake on my part,) both Tingalz and Doomcop decide to start spamming my build with bots and vehicles (cite images 2 and 3.) And to top it all off, they shove a tank in the hot tub (cite image 4.) And looking at the forums, they appear to be one of these so called bronies! It feels as if there is a link between friendry and MLP.

My diagnosis: If you want to build and have fun, you want to stay FAR AWAY from this server.

Off Topic / All files downloading as .ogg?
« on: May 27, 2011, 01:16:06 PM »
Recently (from a week ago to now), I've been having an issue with Mozilla Firefox, whereas I would try to save/download a file, and it would try to save it as an Ogg file.

As stated by the image below (trying to get an image off the forums):

It's not just to .png files, it's to ALL files, on ALL websites. I have to rename the extension to be correct if I want the file to work.

If there's a fix for this, I would appreciate a link.

Off Topic / Night Fox is now on the 'Top 10 Posters' list.
« on: May 16, 2011, 06:36:16 PM »

Seriously. He's been here for a year. Most users who've been here for roughly 2 years have less posts than him.

Congratulations for proving my standing theory correct.

Games / Guitar Hero and Rock Band to be sold off?
« on: February 09, 2011, 09:44:36 PM »
I just read about it on the Wii News Channel.
Turns out Activision and Viacom weren't making enough monies, so they're selling the franchises.
Someone post a link to an article so I can put it in the OP.

Drama / Badspot
« on: November 08, 2010, 08:34:18 PM »
Yes. This is a serious drama about Badspot.

I love how you'll remove everyone's avatars back here, but you won't remove various furry avatars, such as Rainbow's, and Pew446's.
They go around in EVERY loving TOPIC THEY SEE, purposely trying to make people mad. If they were trolls, they would win against the entire community.
You've lost some respect from me, Badspot.

Off Topic / My DSlite hinge is now broken.
« on: August 23, 2010, 04:56:31 PM »
It broke last night, I heard a loud snapping noise while opening my DS, and then my top screen started screwing up (most likely a wiring problem.) Now the screen won't hold up its own weight.

Broken hinge on the outside.

Screen messing up (R4 menu.)

Crack on the inside hinge.

I've got a basket full of repair items on a website, a Chrome Red case, a new Top Screen, and a new Touch Screen. The bottom screen is fine, so no need to replace it.

Off Topic / Mikogo - Free BeamYourScreen.
« on: August 18, 2010, 08:35:25 PM »

Mikogo is just like BeamYourScreen, join a session, or make your own to see other peoples screens.
To host, or have your screen shown, you must obtain permission from the Presenter of their screen.
You can also have remote control of the Presenter's mouse and keyboard.

If you want to host your own, you must register an account.
If you would like to join my Mikogo, click HERE, with the Session ID of 109-312-911, and any name you wish.
The link will also work with everyone elses Mikogo, all you need is their Session ID.

To get your Session ID while hosting, right-click the Mikogo Icon in the taskbar, and select 'Session Information', and then it appears on-screen.

forget it, just shut mine down.
If you wanna try it, host your own.

Modification Help / Problems with Script_Me

I have been working on this script for about a week and this is the same error I keep getting.
Is it because I'm using "!%var" wrong?
Am I just a terrible coder?
