you could reduce brickcount at several locations.

Yeah, I just needed a base to work off of, but for the roof I did if for a tiled look.

This is my modern house that I built with my friends

the roofs shouldnt abruptly end at the sides of the house

Make the roof overhang 1-2 studs. Rest of the build looks nice though. Does it have an interior?

Also, if this is your server you took the picture on, change the sun azimuth so we don't see the dark side of the house.

Most modern houses (unless your talking just modern day houses, not modern, yes there is some difference) have no roof at all, most of the time its just flat: http://martyonthehomefront.blogspot.com/2015/02/modern-house.html
