Well, I haven't posted that much in a while because well, I was working on my blockland wanted project! But then, something came to me that made me shocked, and surprised at the same time, for 3 reasons. First of all, I would need to download all the add-ons that I need to finish this project, AND I have to create new ones because, well, the game would be awkward with the regular add-ons. Second of all is the terrain & the daylight scenes. Now this was not a problem at first, but then after Yosemite Zoo was done, I had to think of how I could change it.
Bad News
------------
I tried all I could to make it the same, but no matter what, ALL blockland servers only have one daylight setting, and even if I opened up 4 different blockland servers, it would be annoying switching from server to server to progress through. My last option then came down to shaders, but in the end, shaders cause some lag for me, and as we all know, lag is bad in most cases. And finally, I felt like this was going to take too long, with all the eventing, building, background scenery, and the story mode and extras are all, so stressful.
In the end through, right when I was done with Samsonian museum, I was starting to think, "Is this really worth it"? Then, the thought of a bad idea came into my hands, hosting a completed project server, waiting for an hour for somebody to join, and none come, maybe 1, 2 or even 3! But it came to me that it didn't matter. I then heard my brain tell me, "Pro, you should continue, people would LOVE it if you continued"! But at that point, I ignored my brain, leaving me with 2 choices left. Either continue the project and rush it, or scrap the project. I thought about this for a while, and even on some servers, I thought about it. But in the end, I felt like it was time to move on, so in the end, Blockland wanted got scrapped.
Good news
--------------
I was really disappointed in this, even through I wasn't too sure if I made the right decision. I then was bored for a bit and started to go to different blockland servers. At that point as well, my new system was ready to launch, thus, 3.0 was born. With 3.0, I immediately started to think of a bunch of new projects, but then I told myself, "Calm down, just think of something the blockland community would like"! I then agreed and looked at the server choices. At first, I was thinking of doing a racing project, but then I knew due to the speedkart and the CTR faliure, that it would take too much time. I then thought, and thought, and thought...... Until I came up with an idea! A party game!
It all made sense now, bringing back my childhood servers one by one. Plus, this server was luckily on a slate board, so I didn't need to worry about anything! It was this server, where you would be on a board, roll a number, and then go on the space you would be required to go to, and even have a few surprises! Sadly, when V20 was released, I lost EVERYTHING, and was back to a standard set of add-ons and saves. Meaning that I can't show the map on this server, but I do remember some of it.
Anywho, while I was thinking about that, the thought of a certain party game came into mind, and without surprise, it was Mario Party. I then remember playing through Mario party, thus, making me think, "I know, maybe I should create a Mario Party in Blockland, but where to start..." I had to think of how many Mario party's there were in each system, but in the end, gamecube took the cake. It had 4, 5, 6 & 7. I took out 5 & 6 right away, because 6 in most people's opinion, is the worst mario party, while for 5, was the least played. I finally felt like it was time to take it a step further, and go with 6 different boards, with items and crazy side effects! And in the end, I thought that Mario Party 4 was the best to go with, saving a bunch of time, making it an easier project than the other 3. SO stay tuned people, Mario Party 4 is coming your way!
