okay when did i "give people stuff for eating meat". I literally wrote "another reason to go vegetarian." you're imagining hostility that doesn't exist.

like, saying that vegans "give meat eaters stuff" is an INSANE lack of self awareness. they get LOADS of stuff every time they even bring up the most innocent response, as shown in this thread. it's very difficult for 0.5% of americans to give stuff and oppress the 99.5%.

i don't think your post was malicious or anything, so don't take it personally. that just really bugged me that you think i "gave people stuff". this is like saying "wow hindus are always giving everyone else stuff"

also, that response was referring to two users who said that "it didn't make sense".

i had the greatest steak meal today, sorry to see that you're missing out

i can't eat any meat without getting ill. it's nasty. but enjoy it if you bought it. otherwise that'd be a waste.

meat tastes delicious, slaves don't, and you can't expect such a high number as 99%, at least 30% of people would be sick of eating crunchy green water all the time and take a bite out of the neighborhood cow

Just as meat is delicious, slaves were vital to the economy at the time. But both can be replaced with other things.
 
I'm pretty sure meat is an acquired taste though. I get meat by accident every once in a while and it's disgusting. I didn't used to find it disgusting, before I went vegetarian. For that reason I think it will only take one generation raised without meat for it to take a massive blow. If everyone chose not to eat meat from 5-15 I'm pretty sure it would go to 10% of it's current hold. There are already entire nations where vegetarianism is the norm.

Even it was a joke (which I'd like to think it was) it came off as condescending and rude.
It would be the equivalent of me going up to someone with a car that has a recalled airbag and saying "well you should of bought a 30 year old car with no airbag then".

I think that would be a totally okay thing to say in jest. Anyone who loses their stuff over that comment should need to chill.

Imagine if I had written something like "yet another reason not to eat hot-dogs ;)" or "yet another reason X company sucks ;)". Nobody would care. It's the BLF Anti-Vegan squad, because they feel highly threatened.

I'm not gonna continue this any more--you'll never change someone's beliefs through online arguments. I'm sorry if you guys feel upset that I talk about a major part of my life occasionally. It's always going to be the right thing and I firmly believe that in a few decades it will be norm.

Something people seem to think is that vegans hate meat-eaters or something. I don't know a single person like that. Thinking that something is moral doesn't mean people who don't do it are bad.
