It is said that man's greatest achievement is his ability to feel compassion towards his brethren, to comfort them in their time of need. No where else is this innate sense of warmth and care better expressed than the Snuggie. Created in Moscow in 1956, Snuggies were originally conceived as an interrogation device that would lure former Bolshevik spies into a false sense of security. However, Enrich Von Snuggie, a german doctor, stole the blueprints for the device and fled back to germany, where he began to mass-produce them. Snuggies were originally not a hit - Enrich didn't have any cheap cloth to manufacture them with so he substituted sheet metal and clay due to it's malleable, yet immaculate shininess. Early Snuggies are akin to wearing "chainmail made of playdo and tin foil", as eloquently put by Eric Chipz, the world's foremost expert on Snuggies. "Only after the invention of cotton fibers could Snuggies truly be produced without intense chafing", he adds. "I wore a original snuggie to bed one and woke up looking like a pallet knife painting!"
