General Discussion / Re: Should Blockland be supported on Linux?
« on: July 19, 2014, 09:13:35 AM »
4. Not only is hammer the single most unreliable source of information in the observable universe
I was referring to dedicated server CPU usage, not the client. The client runs fine on Wine, but the server version is inefficient, which is a reason why at least dedicated servers need to be ported to Wine. I've done tests on it, and you can also ask Lugnut. 70% of server operating systems are UNIX-based, so it makes sense that a lot of players would be using a Linux OS to host.

After that chat message from Zharton, I now believe Setro is the same as before. Sorry for doubting you guys earlier.

pacnet hammereditior
First misconception. The community will never believe Pacnet is a separate person. And this one is surely from 2012!
ddos'd
Second misconception. Is there no difference between "DoS" and DDoS"?
cuz his service sucked
Third misconception. I did the crime because the RTB bashers were making fun of me for 10 pages in a drama topic, which was not related to my hosting service.

Okay, enough is enough. I rest my case. The community will never take me seriously, so it's pointless to argue with you.

Permanently as in you'll come back and complain about it again?
I'm done with complaining. I just wanted to get my last burst of frustration in the community out today.

Why would you encourage me to?
Do you want to get banned or...?
That's the only way you will permanently get me to shut up.

For forgets sake shut up about it.
I've been tormented for three months by communitists. I will never forget how hard I worked but how little the community valued it.

Ok I do admit I misconceived on that one, but only because I've heard from other people.
My theory was correct.

Maybe because the past will come up to you whether you want it to or not.
I don't have a problem with that...it's just that the failures of my past are integrated into how the community thinks my present contributions are doing.

At least make it so you can run dedicated servers on linux.
We've all seen for quite a while what Badspot does to help hosting services...
Hint: nothing

I guess getting Wine isn't too bad, but I'd rather not.
Yes...except for the CPU usage. Blockland runs  inefficiently on the CPU of a Linux system.  There's a 'base' CPU usage plus an amount per player. Let's say you have an AMD FX-6300 at stock speeds. With 3300 datablocks of add-ons and 50000 bricks, your base CPU usage will be about 10% on a core. Add more players and it quickly increases.

Maybe because you shoved hamhost down our throats whenever you got the chance
That was last year. I quit the aggressive advertising after I launched HammerHost. Here you go with the misconceptions again. Like I said only a few minutes ago:
Quote from: Hammereditor5
the community bounded
back to their old 2012 views on Hammereditor and Pacnet.
Why are you a robot stuck to your 2013 opinions?

Plus well, let's face it, having a hosting service from home with lots of traffic isn't too reliable.
Another misconception; the home connection quality was indistinguishable from a data center connection, from the average Blockland player's point of view. There was not a single point in time when the quality suffered from home use. It was doing completely fine until it got DDoS'd, which not even RTB could defend against.

This is the main reason I've given up on defending my hosting service: forumers like you don't think for themselves but jump onto bandwagons in order to collect reputation. The whole forums are a reputation game. "Of course I know HammerHost had downtime because it was attacked, not because of the ISP, but I'll blame Hammereditor for using a connection with  a proven¹ lack of quality. That way I can gain a reputation point!".

¹ proven by the accurate community, of course.

Drama / Re: xSetrox's heart-touching poem of Rule #5-ness
« on: July 18, 2014, 09:37:44 PM »
lets be honest here
we gave him a chance to change
he forgeted it up
thats his fault.
No you didn't because his past kept catching up to him. Who frequently brought up Setro's past? The community, of course.

First of all, you guys are forgetting that Zharton might not be Setro. But since whoever suggested this idea has a good reputation, of course, you all believe him.

If this is Setro, he's doing this to get away from the repeated bashing. Since you won't leave Setro alone, it's gotten so bad that he needed a new account to get some peace and quiet. Yet you jump on him again for his past screw-ups.

Edit: Oh, I forgot that you're the Blockland community. You'll bash my above post to dust because I'm a hated user here.

Maybe if you could leave Setro alone and give him a chance to reform his old ways, Setro would change. At this point, it's the community which is creating the problem in him. But of course the bashers won't stop bashing.

It's great than AdinX was intelligent enough to realize that this community produces garbage drama topics. But of course, the flamers will go back to their old ways and this topic won't make a difference.

• Badspot started lazying off on development and not caring about add-on developers.
• Ephialtes got hired at a new company and didn't have time for Blockland
• RTB hosting got DDoS'd

I admire Ephialtes for giving up on the community after he realized it was a toilet. From now onwards, I will also not help this community any longer because you don't appreciate what I did for you. I got bashed by the usual players whenever something went wrong with my hosting service. In the end, forumers were happy it sank. Most of my creations received negativity and no matter how hard I tried to prove I had changed, the community bounded back to their old 2012 views on Hammereditor and Pacnet.

Just like Ephi, I will not be nice to you if you're not nice to me.
