really doubt its a CPU bottleneck. I am fairly sure Blockland uses next to no CPU power

Whenever I run Blockland at max. shaders, Task manager shows the CPU usage of BL as 25-26%, and my Athlon has 4 cores, so that means it's maxing out a core.

Owner of a $576 AMD card here. Minimum is fine but anything higher runs like stuff even with just a few thousand bricks. I also have 12GB RAM and a 2,8GHz hexa-core CPU.

Yes, I have the same problem. It's a CPU bottleneck. I have a AMD Radeon HD 7850 card with an AMD Athlon II x4 635 CPU (2.9 GHz). Also, Blockland doesn't work with CrossFireX, does it?

Yeah, it's pretty bad. It only had like 25 or so players on it and it still went down...

The ping is usually 300 and it varies from 100 ms. to 600 ms., and 10% of the time, it has a 200 ms. lag spike every 4 seconds.

No, Pacnet uses a Microsoft account for authentication.

The City RPG server had some problems with bad packets being sent today. An hour later, it kicked everybody and then the gamemode was changed to "Freebuild" with a MotE mansion build loaded. The city RPG mod was still running, but nobody's data was showing up. The bottom print looked like "Job: Money: $ Hunger: Pay: ". Did everybody lose their data?

Which BL server are you taking about? I doubt Pacnet is responsible. It's either the fault of natural causes or some jerk like Okiver trying to accuse Pacnet of stuff.

Who would pay for someone to host their blockland server in the first place. Costs less to just leave your computer on.

• Bad CPU or low RAM
• Unreliable network or electricity
• Computer is not suited for 24/7 use (laptop or all-in-one PC)
• Insufficient upload speed
• Located in the middle of nowhere, which provides bad ping to 95% of players
• ISP's terms-of-service ban running public servers at home AND the ISP also cares about it
• Need to worry about keeping the BL server up-and-running

Hammer's not known for reading Terms of Service agreements as he found out from Verizon a year or two ago when he got his first hosting service shutdown hue.

While WeLoveServers does have a very good deals on servers, you may have missed this in the TOS.

I originally intended to use WLS for HamHost 1 year ago. I asked them if I was allowed to run Blockland , and they said "yes".
