I suggest changing these settings in the settings tabs.

Accounting
Inflation: On => Off
This is because inflation is the worst mechanic ever and in a dedicated multiplayer server its worse since it makes profits lower over time.

Limitations
Vehicles never expire: Off => On
Airports never expire: Off => On
This is to make vehicles and airports never expire because expiring vehicles makes budget options dissapear and that makes it worse for new players.

noted, i'll pass it on to russian

as of right now, we're around 11 years from restart, so the server will be back to 1960 by 6 PM EST. next map will be desert, as requested

-snip-

as an additional rule, please don't do stuff like this

does the server have any newgrfs installed or is it all vanilla TTD stuff

we installed a newGRF to fix oil well production because apparently they're broken natively, but beyond that, that's it
russian is taking suggestions if you'd like any newGRFs added

We hit the reset year, so the server's back to 1960. Come on in and move some cargo around.

try yelling at irma and see if she goes away

i tried already didn't work

wind and pressure will intensify, your windows and doors will literally burst when irma will be close enough

trust me when i say it doesn't work like that, this isn't my first hurricane

hello everyone

i live in west broward county and am currently under a hurricane warning until monday

i'm here to give live updates and answer questions while i still have power

at the moment, rain is coming down pretty steadily and the wind is gusting, but things haven't gotten super terrible so far

so, AMA i guess i'll post updates as things happen

here are some frequently asked questions i've gotten in various threads:

why didn't you evacuate
logistically, evacuation was never really an option—i fully expected to be present for the storm from the very beginning and never considered evacuating, not because i didn't take the storm seriously but because by the time evacuation became a very real possibility, a good portion of the county had decided to evacuate, so i wasn't quick enough to the gun

the eye isn't coming at you so aren't you basically going to get away with no bad weather essentially
not necessarily because the storm is just so wide that i'm going to pick up strong winds up to 100mph; sustained, it's going to be around 50 or 60, which is a lot better than what i was originally projected to get (120+), but i'm going to get wind regardless

can i have your stuff if you die
ye

would anyone be interested in a live thread from broward

there's a lot going on here right now

according to the weather maps, westcoast and midland florida are going to be somewhat okay as the winds are like 30 mph tops. the eye passes straight through orlando so orlando wont get hit too bad

but holy stuff eastcoast florida is all the way forgeted. georgia is gonna get some stuff too

...the eye passing through orlando means orlando's forgeted, yo
the eyewall is bad loving news; having been through wilma's eye, i'm telling you right now, stuff's bad
