Eh. In my opinion, the first Conduit looked better in a whole.

Jump into fire.

Activision should have created a better way to moderate the servers.
They didn't prepare because they all thought jailbreaking the PS3 was impossible. Thus, consequences.

My point exactly.

If this does happen, I'm switching to the PC version.

haha forget yeah.

now we need xbox's servers to be shut down.

Tell the hackers to start something.

Games / Activision threatening to pull plug for PSN Black Ops servers.
« on: April 22, 2011, 02:37:04 PM »
(This mostly involves Black Ops players on the PS3)

I'm sure most of you have heard that PSN has been compromised by a number of hackers. Now, hackers have spread to many titles, especially ones from the Call of Duty franchise. Apparently, Activision can't do anything, so know what they're going to do?

They're going to pull the loving plug.

If you guessed, 'On the servers?' ding-ding-ding, you win. An Activision moderator recently posted on the forums regarding the recent outbreak of security breaches:

"Well I have nothing else to offer and I too follow forums and have many friends who play and enjoy the game for all of its features. As an avid gamer, I would also disagree with any legalities involving a single aspect of a game as online experience may change at any time. The publishers have the right to shut down the servers for their game at any time as well which based on the number of reported posts from users may be a viable solution over the free PSN.

In any event, if you would like to send your game disc into us, we can either;

a) Exchange for a sealed (unopened) copy of the game that you can take back to the retailer
b) Swap for another platform
c) Exchange for another Activision title of equal or lesser value.

These are the options that we are able to offer to you as a one time courtesy.

Let us know how you would like to proceed."

Understand that this comes from a moderator, and not straight from Activision itself. This makes it a rumor, but regardless, this really brings my piss to a boil.

I spent 60 bucks on a PS3 version of Black Ops, and now Activision is going to tell me that I can no longer engage in competitive multiplayer with other PSN users? What a load of bullstuff. I can understand that they have the right to take the servers down, but now I don't think they realize how much this will affect them AND Treyarch. They'll lose revenue, employees, and almost 1/4 of the community that plays Black Ops. I'm extremely exasperated with Activision, and certainly hope they don't pull the plug, because they'll have a lot of complaints on their hands.

Also, I do understand that it is for the greater good. Seeing how Activision also has other titles with online capabilities, the hackers could also possibly spread to those titles, too, rendering them unplayable, as well.

Discuss.

I just really hate losing stuff, then finding it 15 minutes later in a place you walked by a million times.

Lol Com. I looked through my blankets and stuff once and gave up with that and then out of total desperateness relooked in all of the same places. I pulled back the one blanket I didn't look under the first time and of course it was there.

What was it that you needed, your drivers license?

Reminds me of that time I was looking for my phone once.

I searched for it for 2 hours straight, and I had to go to a party.

I eventually gave up searching, went to get something to eat and noticed it on a shelf in plain view ;_:

Don't you loving hate that?

I once tried to find my iPod Touch so I could take it with me for a flight to New York. I had about 20 minutes, not a lot of time. I walked past it 12 times, turning the whole living room upside down. I eventually find it right there on a table, in the middle of the loving room, and I'm thinking, 'fuuuuuuu-'

The Jerusalem UFO was proven fake and the Norway one was supposedly a Norwegian military test missile or similar. Most of those look pretty convincing though.

How was the Jerusalem one proven fake? I'm just curious.

Weather is supposed to happen very occasionally, according to Notch. I've only seen it snow once or twice, and rain once. It adds a wilderness feel, and I like it.

Here's a screenie of a rainstorm:

Go forget yourself, you goddamn fanboy.

Just because somebody says it's fun doesn't mean they're a fan boy. So would you kindly shut the forget up?
