i was going to make a whole pompous post about this game but i decided that it best speaks for itself

http://store.steampowered.com/app/358700/?utm_source=SteamDB&utm_medium=SteamDB&utm_campaign=SteamDB%20App%20Page

look at this holy stuff

in fact don't just look at it, looking at it doesn't do it justice. looking at it makes it looks decent. you have to play it.

http://www.indiedb.com/games/bridges3d/downloads/3d-bridges-demo

give it a try. what could possibly go so, so horribly wrong?

Algodoo is a physics-based 2D sandbox developed and sold by Algoryx Simulation AB, and is the successor to the popular physics application Phun. Algodoo is marketed as an educational tool and has much functionality with touch screen computers, computers with accelerometers, and the Intel Classmate PC.

Simulations in Algodoo involves using the given tools (polygon creation, cut, brush, box, circle, gear, plane, chain, spring, fixate, hinge, tracer and laser pen) and features (CSG, Velocity modification, attraction, refraction, killer/immortal objects, cutter objects, water and scripting) to create scenes with high levels of intricacy. The simple interface of Algodoo allows a new user to create simple things like cars or basic machines, while still not limiting those who want to make very complex machines, creatively achieving simulation objectives in a variety of ways.

Algodoo allows users to modify the gravitational force, restitution, friction, refractive index, density, layers of collision, controller acceleration, destruction and mirror keys, texture (allowing users to place a picture on an object) and color (and alpha channel) of a polygon, color and refractive index of water, fade distance, color and speed of light of a laser, color, speed, strength, impulse break limit, state, direction and controls of a hinge/motor, strength constant, damping factor and target length of a spring and fade time of a tracer, giving a lot of choices for users to change to get different results.

Sharing user created content among the Algodoo community is similar as it was in Phun with the usage of Algodoo's file sharing site, Algobox. There are currently over 30,000 unique creations stored.

Off Topic / Reminder that AlienTube is a thing that exists

https://alientube.co/

it's an extension that swaps out a video's youtube comments for its reddit comments, if said video has a reddit post on it. if not, it displays the normal comments.

it really helps make youtube slightly less cancer.

Off Topic / tudor asks blf for tech support: my mouse is posessed
« on: May 30, 2015, 03:10:39 AM »
alright so before you guys start yelling at me i've tried to search for other solutions and so far none of them have worked.

i have a laptop with windows 8 64bit. a while ago, my old mouse went forget, and i had to get a new one - from what i can tell on the serial label, an intex sls3, no longer listed on their site.

all was fine and well but almost immediately after i started having weird mouse problems. the most proeminent is this one: i often lock focus to the current window - not being able to click the taskbar, or any other window - and if i alt-tab to another window, clicking on that just changes focus back to the starting window, no matter where that is. it happens most often on firefox, and a lot of the time it happens when i middle click something.

i also have other issues involving the mouse, including google chrome going completely forget, opening new tabs when i click on links, and closing those tabs when i try to switch to them.

the only way i can see to fix these problems is to press ctrl-esc once, bringing up the metro menu, then pressing it again to go back to the desktop.
the problem also happens regardless of whether my mouse is plugged in or not, and also happens in safe mode.

they've got a thing against me and want to block me for some reason
[they didn't even give me the password in the first place but i managed to connect with the code on the router itself]

i'm not sure if they'll even manage to pull it off but if they do, what's the best way to evade this?

[also, tell me if the post breaks any rules. i'll edit it all out if it does.]

for those of you that don't know: this is build and shoot http://buildandshoot.com/
otherwise known as the old version of ace of spades, as it was before jagex bought it
it's a voxel shooter where the terrain is fully editable. real fun.
if you wanna play it, get the old client that runs on pretty much any windows machine, or the new client that runs on all three OSes and looks loving great but needs more resources

after running into a whole BUNCH of bullstuff, such as:
 - complete asshats griefing their own team's structures
 - complete asshats trying to bury their own team alive, and otherwise sabotaging their stuff
 - aimbots, rapidhacking, and other cheating up the ass
 - other kinds of complete loving bullstuff
. . . me and navar0nius decided that we and BLF as a whole would probably profit a whole bunch from having a private server for the game

unfortunately neither of us really has the resources for accomplishing such a feat
as such, we've decided to kindly ask you guys if any of you is willing to host a server for us so we can have fun and not be huge richards to eachother

what say ye?

Games / Captain Forever - ship-building roguelike
« on: January 25, 2015, 02:36:56 PM »
http://www.captainforever.com/captainforever.php

Captain Forever is a ship-building roguelike with vector-esque graphics and tough as nails difficulty.

This is your command module. If it dies, you die.

The main aspect of the game is taking different from fallen ships and upgrading your ship with them using a very dynamic building system.

Combat is pretty straightforward. You press space to fire your lasers, and they destroy what they hit. The location of thrusters matters, and you shouldn't be surprised that your ship with thrusters on only one side can't go straight.

Being a roguelike, death is permanent. You die, you start all over from the beginning.

How far can you get?

ps: sorry for the stuffty op. i tried.

« on: November 30, 2014, 02:08:17 PM »
It is today, at precisely 23:15 Russian Time, the user known as "Maxwell" has passed on his rank as King of Memes to the user known as "Navar0nius"/"Cybertails1998", as well as stepped down from his function as a Memer.

This is shocking news to everyone. Memers everywhere place their regrets for loss of their brother Maxwell, but rejoice for their new, glorious king, Navar0nius.

This has been Memetotskan News. Have a Dank day.
