Off Topic / Breathing Game (inspired by Gamefandan's topic)
« on: May 14, 2010, 10:05:49 PM »
Okay so guys.

This is a very simple game. The objective is to see who can breathe the longest. Everyone is playing, and the last one breathing, wins.

Deuteronomy 5:33 (New International Version)
Walk in all the way that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.

"Live long and prosper"

Dude how can Star Trek do this.
It's outrageous.

Off Topic / Childhood Memories
« on: May 01, 2010, 09:25:36 AM »
Post good/bad/funny memories from when you were a kid. (by kid I mean 4-8 years old, maybe even younger if yo remember)

Mine:
I remember when I was about 4-5 years old I visited my Great Uncle's farm (yes in Russia). The real reason we came was because he passed away but it was still fun visiting my Great Aunt and others there. There would be stacks of hay stacked almost to the top of the barn and my cousin Julie and I would climb up there and just talk, and one time I even fell asleep there. Next to the farm was the house that my Great Uncle built. It's walls were pretty much just logs. My dad told me that when he was little he remembered him building the house and how he bound all the logs together and stuffs.
Good memory <3

I was planning on only responding positively here but "High five for stating your opinion!" is dismissive.

Off Topic / Virus forgeted things up
« on: March 20, 2010, 11:29:44 AM »
Okay, I recently had a virus that would not let me search the web or use my antivirus. I got rid of it but it seems to have messed somethings up. For example, I am unable to upload anything to anywhere. This includes Imageshack, Filefront, Mediafire, Photobucket, Yahoo (attachments). I am also unable to use the Steam Store and Community through the portable Steam (one installed on your computer).
It just says
Code: [Select]
Navigation to the webpage was canceled

   What you can try:
     Refresh the page.

That is the store page.
The community page says
Code: [Select]
This program cannot display the webpage

   Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

   What you can try:
Check your Internet connection. Try visiting another website to make sure you are connected.

     Retype the address.

Go back to the previous page.

     More information

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

Internet connectivity has been lost.
The website is temporarily unavailable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
This is not a problem with Steam, it has been going on for 2 weeks now. I can only use Steam through a browser.

My best guess is the virus tampered with the network settings in someway that it blocks something that those sites and Steam have in common but I don't know what.

Off Topic / Video Card
« on: March 19, 2010, 06:31:14 PM »
My dad is ordering a new video card and psu for me today but he is still saying something about the motherboard and video card being not compatible. I'm getting this video card and I don't need anymore suggestions on that. I have a "MCP61PM-GM" motherboard. Manufactured by ECS. Everything is good except whatever my dad is talking about. I bought my computer about a year ago and the motherboard is still the original one and was meant for a stuffty integrated card.

Can you find any incompatibilities with the card and the processor?
