I guess even if we can repeat experiments that demonstrably show that something is true (such as in the case of all of our technology), it still isn't true because ???

How do these experiments prove that something of the past is true when the results from experiments can also probably be something else.

A Creationist created your MRI machine, so much for technology relying on the absolute law that technology can only go forward if you believe something exploded and you weren't there to see it.

Look, it's okay to believe in creationism, but don't go dissing things you don't understand.

I diss all and any beliefs that attack other ones to promote how "right" they are.

I know what your stance is, you are saying that the radiation could be coming from another source other than the Big Bang. But, do you have any proof that could give your point some credibility? It doesn't have to be proven completely true, but you haven't posted evidence supporting your point.

You're missing the point, I'm not here to put evidence out for other sources, I'm here to point out how our ASSUMPTIONS on where the radiation came from are subject to criticism and are possibly fallible. I'm not here to disprove but to point out there is a chance it can be disproven. Though how is it proof if its fallible. Huh.

No it's not. No one ever said our most plausible model is correct. It's the one that makes the most sense, so we use it in our understanding of the universe.

Nobody said THAT of course. Sure it makes the most sense, but it can still be wrong. You're assuming though its correct based on how comfortable you are with it.

What the forget should we do instead? Not use any model of the universe since it's probably wrong?

Of course not. Keep believing what you believe but don't shoulder other belief systems out of the way claiming yours is right when it can in fact probably be wrong.

Again, going back to my point, you're lacking evidence. Gimme a link showing other possible sources of radiation, and then I'll consider it. You haven't posted one credible source, you yourself have been assuming it could be coming from somewhere else.

Radiation could have come from anything, and we're making assumptions as to where it came from. That doesn't make it fact only theory, so before you start going after everyone else about how their beliefs are wrong, think first about how fallible yours can be too.

The link I posted had elements of the Big Bang we have been able to observe scientifically, how is that assumption?

True, but I can't see the effects of the big bang. And if someone did show me an effect of the big bang, how do i know its an effect of the big bang when its possible the big bang didn't exist? Take Sevenths radiation argument for an example.

I find it hypocritical that you say we don't have strong evidence when most of the debaters in this thread provided links while you didn't post a single source supporting your argument, from what I've seen.

All the links were being put forth to advocate and assumption. Assumption isn't evidence.

People who use the fossil record to describe a clearly-defined lineage of evolution are interpreting it in the wrong way. The way we know that all life descended from simple lifeforms is because of DNA.
At this point all you are doing is bastardizing the definitions of the words 'faith' and 'confidence' in an attempt to make it seem like following a religion based on faith and choosing explanations based on substantiation/experimentation are just as good at predicting things about the natural world.

This has become a semantic argument and that's where I'm going to stop. If you want to test your theory about faith being just as good at predicting outcomes as experimentation, feel free to take your faith and challenge the theory of gravitation by jumping off a nearby bridge.

Cept gravity is technically observable. But whatever. All i'm pointing out is you and the rest of your community are a bunch of hypocrites by saying Creationism isn't credible enough to be taught normally.

Neither you nor a christian has facts and strong evidence (which is proven evidence), so the "legality of my beliefs" war is pointless.

We can assume that there's /some/ explanation that perfectly explains how reality works, but you can never prove one because there's absolutely no way to eliminate all uncertainty. There's tons of things where you can be confident that your model or explanation will predict something correctly, but can't be definitely proven otherwise.

I've already explained why confidence and faith are different things, and I'm /confident/ that you can scroll up and read it yourself.
