they can be funny if the joke is funny
the ones that really annoy me though are the ones that are only supposed to be funny because it is a meme, like that godawful loss comic that gets posted every page and a half. There's no joke. No humor. Just some shapes arranged in a specific order and wow its funny!!

i think itat a point it was funny because of how bad the original comic wasd, but over time it became inhumanly meta and nobody can really explain why its funny to some and unfunny to others

I dunno. Do you really think they'd miss the chance to poke fun at conspiracy theorists? Plus, the way they addressed it was too informal for it to be taken seriously.

im not sure what you mean by too informal, because it's forgetin twitter
but i mean sarcasm does not travel through text very well so im not really sure if we should assume the cia is joking about a sensitive topic (for alien conspitribals at least) rather than assume that they aren't lying when they say that what everyone thought were alien ufos were just them
