http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/forget-water-on-mars-astronomers-may-have-just-found-giant-alien-megastructures-orbiting-a-star-near-a6693886.html

"Boyajian, who oversees the Planet Hunters project, recently published a paper looking at all the possible natural explanations for the objects and found all of them wanting except one – that another star had pulled a string of comets close to KIC 8462852. But he said even this would involve an incredibly improbable coincidence."

no pics but i cant believe some alien motherforgeters beat us to making huge space megastructures. those one-upping bastards.

i never watched samurai jack but did jack ever kill the bad guy

also be careful what you wish for cause they would probably pull what they did with the powerpuff girls reboot

94
these are children's shows
would that not make it worse to make fun of transgender people? children are impressionable and maybe a kid with dysphoria would start feeling stigmatized by their favorite show.

this is assuming that the episode actually did pass the horse dressing up femininely as a joke or something bad like that, i dont actually know what the contents of the episode are.

is this the understood definition of what an SJW is? i've always understood the idea basically as a socially radical person that likes to yell on the internet

regardless, i think kimon's point is that this is merely an archetype and real examples of that archetype are too rare to actually justify creating a collective of them, or rather, the apparent examples are far less intense than the archetype would suggest. i think it's more so a problem where the parameters for the group are so weirdly defined that it's kinda hard to use as a legitimate collection of individuals. it's a weird case where the group that's being described becomes loaded with all sorts of negative connotations that using it in rational discourse becomes really difficult and muddled. the problem is more so that the term "SJW" has come to be inherently dismissive and negative. it doesn't hold weight as a categorisation, it holds weight as a derogation. as a real-world example, think "communist" during the red scare. it was a label used to cause distrust and shoot down ideas rather than as a legitimate means of identification.
you're good at explaining things better than me

please elaborate kind sir
what point? is your point that it's ok to be an starfish to weaboos but not to anyone else? that popular animes are bad because of them? that weaboos are gross??
people that regularly consume anime / hentai that special interestizes rape and child enthusiasm (there's a lot of them!) are stuff, and the fact that they are ruining the japanese animation industry is a cherry on top. people that consume anime are not bad people, but it becomes increasingly obvious that you are dealing with a weeaboo based on the shows they watch. (and how much they watch of it, sometimes)
if being a weaboo is a 'group', why is attempting to defend the dumbest things and promote basically anything that involves a gender that isn't male / female not a group?
because weeaboos are easy to identify, and not thrown around loosely as a stuffty umbrella term for people you dont agree with in an argument. hell, half of the bad anime consumers identify themselves as weeaboos.

"I don't care about other people interest, except if its all things japanese!"

that's a gross bastardization of what i said, i REALLY gotta ask you again if you actually read the post it was based on. that's a rhetorical question, because i know you didn't.

98
you know what other kind of person eats up stupid things, thinks extremely odd things are normal, and are a plague to society?
sjw's
this is a joke right? like you didnt actually miss the point that badly just to fit in an unfunny jab at a group that need i remind you, is not an actual group,  you determined the parameters for being in it

99
I think this should be more specific because fandom is a group of fans of everything, so as well as saying the internet cancer sucks you are also saying fans of sports or hobbies are also cancer which isn't the case because I don't see people who collect cars getting into arguments over the best hobby.
yeah i guess so but again i just dont concern myself with whatever people do to enjoy themselves, with exceptions like weeaboo culture of course.

ever since they all started using it as a hugbox
im gonna have to redirect you to the stuff i just got done writing about, just above you

Since when has any Tumblr user been an accurate representation of a entire fandom?
yeah this also

real talk while we're at it

99% of fandoms suck, which is why i dont care or waste my energy trying to tell a buncha 13 year olds to stop doing something that they enjoy. but man, weeaboos are god damn horrendous. they eat up the same moe fanservice stuff that creates a vicious cycle of bad anime dominating the industry, all while getting more and more desensitized to all the gross special interest pandering like child enthusiasm and incest. then they go around like its a normal thing to to watch anime for 24 hours straight, or those people that are like "im an otaku lol!" even though in japan, the country they worship, 'otakus' and their lifestyles are viewed as a damn plague to society. kids get drawn into this stuff early unfortunately, which i'll talk about in my next paragraph.

it's funny and trendy to yell at steven universe fans for being le sjws, but really they're usually just impressionable 13-15 year olds (pretty much the target audience for cartoons nowadays!) picking up buzzwords and political ideas they dont understand from social media websites. they dont understand that they arent looking at things rationally, or in the way they personally think is correct, because if they tried they would be fearful that another 13-15 year old would bully them for not sticking strictly to the status quo /they/ think is correct. this isn't limited to tumblr either, in fact a horseshoe effect is taking place here. there's a whole lot of 13 year olds playing blockland and joining these forums because the game is attractive to younger kids, and they soon learn that adapting the ideals of this website is easier than getting bullied for not accepting them, or acting in a way that is deemed inappropriate by other people in the same way tumblr does it. in case you haven't noticed, there's a lot of kids mimicking the cynical and cruel behaviors on this website without fully understanding what they're doing. so what i ask is that you please just calm down and think about your behavior on the internet.

i hope at least enough of that made sense to get the point across.

103
the steven universe fandom is worse than weeaboos
you have no place to talk
