Though even if I did give a toss about sports, I still despise games made in yearly installments.

I don't buy em every year but they're always great to play when you're chilling with friends. The night before thanksgiving each year me and like 15 other people have a big all night madden tournament.
This year's madden looks like it's gonna have a lot of cool new features. I'm looking forward to it.

it's not that they make them but rather because they spent the entire conference talking about it and it was boring as hell

Madden, FIFA and NHL all look very promising and have always been great games. How is that boring?
