It's because the majority of die-hard bronies shove it down people's throats.
The majority of sports fans do not do this.
well that's just flat out false

I would be perfectly fine with bronies if they didn't try to cram their fandom down everyone's throat.
people cram sports down my throat all the time; you don't see me actively opposing everyone who loves sports.

Setting is described as the time, place, and social context within which a narrative occurs. Setting is used for a reason, and every story has some kind of context that serves a definite purpose. In Edgar Allen Poe's short story, “The Cask of Amontillado,” Poe uses settings to heighten probability, create atmosphere, and to communicate ideas symbolically.
Poe uses setting to heighten the probability of certain actions to occur during the story. When the character, Montresor, first sees his fellow character, Fortunato, Fortunato was wearing “a tight-fitting parti-striped dress”(4). If the setting was not previously described as a carnival, then the reader would have been less likely to believe that Fortunato was wearing such a silly outfit. In the second part of the story, the two characters described the cellar they were passing through as “a deep crypt, in which the foulness of the air caused our flambeaux rather to glow than flame”(67). When Montresor finally gets to burying Fortunato alive, Poe has already been foreshadowing something eerie happening by using this eerie atmosphere. Poe uses these two settings in order to make his character's actions more believable to the reader, and as a result the reader finds the story more enjoyable.

1. Even if he's not trying to hurt (physically or mentally) the other dude it's still a richard move.
If he's not trying to hurt him, then it's just playful teasing.
2. The other dude shouldn't have to put up with it in the first place
"putting up with it" is basically hitting alt-f4, and maybe telling the teacher

20
This is all irrelevant to what I said. It still a richard move and stoops lower than the "childish" (as you put it) anti-brony, none of what you listed changes that.
A little reasoning beyond "it's bad" would really help me understand why my points were irrelevant.

A "harmless" prank designed to anger and elicit a negative reaction out of a member of a group that OP doesn't like. You have to admit, that's a richard move
1. I doubt newspeed was trying to hurt or put down the anti-brony.
2. I'm almost 100% certain that if the anti-brony would legitimately ask newspeed to stop, then newspeed would stop.
3. They know each other well; I doubt either of them resent each other.
And that is why I dislike bronies. loving childish, I would kill a man if they shoved their fandom down my throat.
Yes, murder is indeed the adult way to handle problems.
Report to the teacher and be done with it
Yes, then have fun making friends for the rest of your school life.

but you don't respond to bronies by being an anti-brony
let's take it a step further and stop the problem at it's source
The problem is with OP stooping down to that level of irrationality to pull a very assholish prank on someone just to piss them off, which will no doubt further their hate for the mlp fandom as a whole and probably lead to more childish acts.
i doubt it was anything more than a harmless prank
Actually op shouldn't give a stuff, people make fun of me for being a nintendocigarette at school, do I give a stuff? no, I grow a pair and learn to ignore people who have different opinions.
Habit 6: Don't Cooperate.
Let's face it, other people are weird because they're different from you. So why try to get along with them? Teamwork is for the dogs. Since you always have the best ideas, you are better off doing everything by yourself. Be your own island.

This is EXACTLY why he's anti-brony, because of people like you. Stop being a childish starfish.
you're acting like the anti-brony is any less childish, that just because he agrees with you, he must be the more mature of the two

can't take jokes?
Phrases like “can’t you take a joke” or “just kidding” are used by bullies to get away with what they are saying to the victim. Although the bully’s comments cross the line from good teasing into bullying, using the phrase “can’t you take a joke” makes the victim feel bad for not liking the “joke."

Only four pages of rude comments? PFFT! We should have like eighty pages just to make sure we get rid of all this major cringe.

I don't know about you, but I haven't met a person that is anti-brownie.
my cousin is allergic to brownies

When one of the anti-bronies in my class found out I was a brony, he took the micro-SD card from my phone and filled it with straight up horse research. Clearly he is a level of intelligence above me; you could tell how smart he was by the way he scoffed at my legitimate enjoyment of a TV show. He must have had his stuff sorted out because he was able to make fun of my stuff; that's how things work. The world needs more of these kinds of people. Only four pages of rude comments? PFFT! We should have like eighty pages just to make sure we get rid of all this major cringe.

Unrelated note, when people left their accounts signed in in my Information Technology class last year, the teacher would fill their desktop with new folders; it was pretty funny.
