Modification Help / Re: Spawned projectiles not doing damage to players
« on: January 19, 2017, 03:52:57 AM »
or iirc if you have a variable spawnBrick on the projectile set to a brick belonging to the public brickgroup (brickgroup_888888)
it will probably override it or something

Well, using events I can spawn a projectile from a public brick, and that will kill me. But I didn't get any results doing spawnBrick = public brick ID unfortunately.

also you can overwrite the minigameCanDamage checks since its a gamemode

I changed the miniGameCanDamage function to this:
function miniGameCanDamage(%obj1, %obj2)
{
   return 1;
}

But it didn't seem to work either...

So I guess the next step would be to overwrite function ProjectileData::damage and function ProjectileData::radiusDamage? Or are you referring to a different function

Modification Help / Spawned projectiles not doing damage to players
« on: January 19, 2017, 03:17:36 AM »
I'm making a gamemode and I want it at times to spawn missiles in the sky that rains down on everyone below. The problem is: the projectiles aren't doing any damage. Here's the code:

Code: [Select]
for(%i = 0;%i < ClientGroup.getCount();%i++)
{
%subClient = ClientGroup.getObject(%i);

%location = %subClient.player.getTransform();

%x = getWord(%location, 0);
%y = getWord(%location, 1);
%z = getWord(%location, 2);

%x += getRandom(-10, 10);
%y += getRandom(-10, 10);
%z += 50;

%position = %x SPC %y SPC %z;

//messageAll('', %position);

%proj = new Projectile()
{
dataBlock = tankShellProjectile;
//dataBlock = gravityRocketProjectile;
initialPosition = %position;
initialVelocity = 0;
//sourceObject = 0;
minigame = %subClient.minigame;
//client = %subClient;
};

%proj.dump();

MissionCleanup.add(%proj);

}

When I set client = %subclient, it does damage, but obviously that wont work because if someone gets killed by a rocket meant for someone else, that other person will get credit for blowing someone up. That's not preferable. I don't want anyone to get the credit for these kills so I don't want to set a client. But if I don't set a client, it doesn't do damage.

what is this like the 15th time he's been accused of something he didn't do

THIS time it'll work guys. We may have lost the election but we certainly haven't lost our stuffty attitudes

NOTE: THIS PACK IS OUTDATED. I'm leaving the links up for legacy support. The updated pack can be found here:

Brick_WireFenceLoop

This is a set of bricks that gives you a bit more control over wire fences than the original bricks did. You can now make large, seamless wire fences like these:

You can also make different shapes instead of just one large rectangle:

I may plan 3x and 1x wide bricks in the future as well as some combined bricks to allow for more detailed fences depending on how hard it is lol. The bricks are under Special > Wire Fence

Download

Brick_WireFenceLoop_3xWide

This is the 3x wide version, allowing for more compact designs.

Note: Since these bricks have an odd dimension, they wont loop perfectly sideways. You'll have to rotate them into place. If rotating them still doesn't solve the problem, make sure you have the right brick. There are two versions of each 'side' brick

Download

Brick_WireFenceLoop_Half

The grind literally never stops. This is the half height pack, allowing for even compacter designs.

Because of the way blockland works and my incredible lack of foresight, there are two forms of half height fence brick. You have bottom bricks, ones that go on the ground, closest to the floor. You can then put the 'top' bricks ontop of those bricks, and they will overlap into each other to form this:

Then you can put more bottom bricks ontop of that and start over again. The pack also comes with some bricks called "low fence" bricks, which contain seams on the top and bottom of the fenceloop, and also comes with end cap bricks.

It's easy to make people do and think certain things if you make them feel like a victim. Victim to guns, victim to wealthy oppressors, victim to raycizum, victim to mean words, you name it. Can't blame them, starts in the education system with impressionable children.

Add-Ons / [BRICKS] 4x4 and 3x3 tapered wedges
« on: January 17, 2017, 08:18:43 PM »
Tapered Wedges

I made some 'tapered wedge' bricks, which is essentially the equivalent of taking a 3x3 and a 4x4 and cutting them along their diagonal, this will allow you to build some diagonal walls without having to use 1x1 wedge fillers, which don't always look great.

Example:

This may have been done before idk I didn't spend a ton of time checking. Also you can get a fitting pair of 2x2 tapered wedges here.

Download

Note: This is my first attempt at making bricks. It's also my first attempt ever at using blender. There could be some broken stuff so please let me know what you find. I may make 6x6, 8x8 and 2x, 3x and 5x tall in the future if there's nothing wrong with this pack.

Suggestions & Requests / Extension to the chainlink fence brick
« on: January 15, 2017, 10:38:24 PM »
The wire fence bricks are great in theory but in practice they don't really look that great because the individual bricks don't really sync up that well, and 6x isn't even that great of a candidate for a brick that's supposed to go side-by-side with itself. So I was thinking, if we could cut it into multiple parts sorta like this

You could theoretically make your own fence sizes. One end brick, one top corner brick, one top brick, and a couple of actual fence bricks. That way, instead of having multiple 6x fence bricks sitting next to each other, you could just have one big fence with no seams. The base bricks could probably be swapped out with flat print bricks

monday is an insult. If you insult someone who is white then they'll probably beat you up. if you insult someone who is any other race they will probably beat you up. It's not a matter of race, it's a matter of some dipstuff running their mouth, getting their teeth knocked out and then playing the freedom of speech or double standard card

Yeah, that's literally what they said. They get it if you're angry and lash out. Not everyone is mature enough to not explode into a physically violent temper tantrum when they get insulted. The kid on the other hand, was literally asking if he could attack someone for saying a certain word and get away with it, which isn't the point.

i like how "monday" is now a power word and blacks know it

like if you call a black a "monday" they immediately know they can basically rape and murder you and still be the victim in the eyes of the police and media because you said monday

This is pretty true in a way. I remember at orientation when I went to bootcamp, we we're having a discussion about fighting. Like blah blah blah, don't do it, but boys will be boys, we understand if you're angry

And some scrawny black kid in the back of the room pipes up "Like, what if they say the n word? Like... Is that a free pass? To beat them up?" and they basically repeated what they just said and he goes "But like, if a white kids says the n word, I'm allowed to beat them up right?"

It would've been comedic if it wasn't a literal statement on society. stuff is loving pathetic.

Drama / Re: Morons at Servo's CityRPG.

The server crashed the other day and for some reason there wasn't a recent save, so I lost over an hour of work on my tower. Have no interest in returning now

It was kinda fun while it lasted. Pretty below average in quality as far as the average CRPG goes. Also that election system is loving stupid and this drama is a great example why

I agree with Path. The vast majority of white parents raise stuffty kids, and that's why Hillary won the popular vote

I need a clarification on backdoors in addons.
Aren't they just if the creator puts in some hidden code they can join and give themselves admin or crash the server or something?

Generally when you write a function that you only want an admin to use, you'll create an if statement that checks to make sure that the user is an admin.

In the context of this topic, /ty made several admin only functions, but he wrote the if statement so that it would check if you were an admin OR BL_ID 997, which gives him access to admin only functions whether or not he is an admin

Just because it's free doesn't mean you have to treat them like almighty kings, sorry that isn't how it works.

where the forget did you get the idea that he wanted you to treat him like an 'almighty king'? I think just not being a 'total richard' would be a step in the right direction
