actually death metal is a subgenre of metal but hey

Should I try to explain stuff like deathcore to you or is this just a plain and simple "forget you" post

I just got done watching this video. I actually enjoy Dunkey's videos, but he clearly went into this game looking for... well... I REALLY don't know what he went looking for. Super Mario Bros or something probably. It's a space exploration game. He spent a couple minutes explaining how he doesn't like exploring space, and how his inability to enjoy the genre translates to "gaemz is bad". He literally said they were trying to copy minecraft lmfao. No. He doesn't get it.

I don't like MOBAs. So I don't play MOBAs, and I don't review them either. I have no opinion on games I personally don't enjoy, because I know I'm just going to get bored and pissed off and call it 'repetitive'. And if you ask me, thousands of hours doing the same matches on LoL? loving insane. But I don't stuff on the game, because each to their own. People went into No Man's Sky expecting a variety of things to do in a world that is entirely generated, instead of things to look at. That kind of technology doesn't exist. But we've just broken major ground on the latter.

You ever listen to a genre of music you don't like? Like most people don't like death metal. They say it all sounds the same. But someone who's an avid listener of death metal can identify 10 subgenres in a single album. Similar concept.

jesus christ i hate this mindset
good gaming computers are around $1000 while a ps4 is like, what, $300 - $350? not everyone wants to spend a thousand dollars to play a few video games
besides the fact some people might want to have a console so their siblings / children can use it, play games with them and their pals, or just enjoy playing a video game on a big television
you act like people aren't allowed to be upset because they didn't spend more money

A Walmart skateboard is $10. A professional skateboard is closer to $120. 12x the price. You know why nobody but children ride Walmart boards? Because they're slow, stuffty and dangerous.

If you take your hobby seriously, you cough up the bucks. If you buy stuff entry-level hardware because it's cheaper, you get stuff cheap hardware. Don't complain. Nobody's fault but your own.

I'd agree about multiplayer being a big feature and it's defo suspicious that they're being all closed doors about a game that's been released already, but it's not a make-or-break thing like everyone's making it out to be

I think the reason they're trying to make people think of it as a single-player game is because the conventional definition of "multiplayer" implies teaming up and doing co-op stuff rather than just existing in the same virtual universe.

But they made it very clear from the start that seeing another player was going to be a very rare occurrence. So I don't see the issue lol.

Turns out that games are all about "delivering an experience" now, not actually being games anymore

I'd say it's a game. Has a fail state. Even an end-goal, kinda, and a level of structured path to said goal. More so than loving Firewatch

he said that he liked the game when he was just walking around looking at stuff. he said the game was at its best when it was a walking simulator

It's almost as if that's all No Man's Sky was ever advertised to be, lmfao

i don't even think that's what it was about but ok
did you even read it

I feel stuffty even dignifying this dubiously low-effort post with a response but yeah, it's Jim Sterling's personal account of how he sucks at researching games before he buys them. He got pissed off because he couldn't ride a dinosaur in a space exploration game. I wish that was an exaggeration, but it's literally the stuff he wrote.

Turns out, he didn't like No Man's Sky because it was a walking simulator. But he gave Firewatch an 8/10, lmfao.

I agree with that review. Not even a single hot chick with big tits to engage my short attention span. This game sucks, I'm going to go do a bunch of left turns on Need for Speed sequel 500

Anyone who takes the words that come out of their mouths seriously understands the hour to dollar ratio. $1 per hour is justifiable to me.

60 hours in an infinite universe with thousands of randomized variables? Without even trying.

>buy inferior console with severe industry sub-standard limitations
>complains about low FPS and FOV

?

I've seen bigger studios get away with unbelievable stuff like gearbox and that stuffty alien game which was selling for 60 dollars and completely broken.

$60 is chump change in the game industry. If you want anything that's not a second rate indie game, you're gonna be paying $60. They should consider themselves lucky, most newly released titles in Australia drop upwards of $90 USD. If you ask me, $60 is a small price to pay for a pioneer of the genre with some seriously impressive procedural technology.

You don't hate the game because you perceive it as "repetitive". You hate the game because you're not a fan of the space exploration genre. No Man's Sky is currently the absolute apogee of this embryonic genre. There are people who would spend countless hours just loving around looking at empty planets on Space Engine, now they get to play an actual game about it.

How sad, I think, that the path to success on YouTube essentially boils down to "be as loving fake as possible".

That's the wrong way of looking at it. It's literally just acting at a very basic level.

Intros will murder your audience retention. Have a cool identifiable catchphrase at the start instead, and focus on an outro. Seriously, the intro meme is on the way out.

Always note that your #1 goal on youtube is to entertain people. Anybody can play Warframe. The reason why people like Pewdiepie or Markiplier get subs is because of their personality. You're gonna have to get a little loud and more expressive. It'll probably be a little awkward and embarrassing at first, and you'll have to fake it at times, but over time you'll get comfortable with it and begin to settle into your 'youtube personality'. You've definitely got the voice for it, which is a plus, and your mic quality sounds pretty good.
