No one says that, that's not how this works.

He's inexperienced, not a loving honor student. Psychotic gunmen don't go onto internet forums and ask for "good ammo". What kind of mass-shooter uses a gun with a max ammo capacity of 5-6 anyway?

blf, I've been having a problem asking to go out (not on a date) with girls to activities like movies or even just chilling. literally all they answer is a maybe and on the last minute they text me and change their plans. I'm really considering no girl likes me but then again it is 8th grade.

Not on a date? If you're not asking them out on a date, I hope you're asking them to accompany you with a group and not just by yourselves, otherwise it becomes painfully obvious that you're into them but you're not confident enough to ask them out. (the exception being with close friends, but close friends generally don't do this tier bullstuff)

Also girls (with the rare exception) like to play games instead of just saying what's on their mind, maybe = no 99% of the time.

I guess it can come down to personal preference, but it just seems counter-intuitive to me to go target shooting with the shortest barrel possible.

If he's just plinking cans at 10m then it doesn't matter what's intuitive or not. It's just some pointless fun.
Maybe he bought a snubnose because one day he wants to conceal carry it but for now it's whatever

Get a .44 magnum if you want self defense.
