Fallout 4 has nothing but idiot proofing characters.

This sentence doesn't even make sense. And mortal companions would just be more garbage to micromanage.

Can you still place large bricks inside water/mod-ter/zone bricks?

I really wish limb dismemberment (not including head) of humans wasn't an always fatal thing.
So that an enemy could cower if there arm was removed, or would resort to poorly aimed attacks with 1-handed weapons, and losing legs meant they would crawl away, or just sit and scream.

That's pretty gnarly. I love it.

So you're saying the Yessman option is handicapped? Did it ever occur to you that people pick Yessman because they want the strip for themselves and they don't care about the other factions?
Consider your mentality of "boring as all forget factions jerking each other off" then you would think you would join Yessman's side and screw all factions. That's what I did.
Plus isn't Fallout 4 a bunch of "boring as all forget factions jerking each other off" doing the exact same stuff? Your choices is actually more limited with Fallout 4.

All the options are handicapped. They all have the exact same goal to do the same stuff and the game doesn't even continue after the game ends, so it's not like legitimately any of those options even matter like at all. You could pick a faction with ene-meeny-miney-mo and none of it would make a loving difference. In Fallout 4, depending on which side you choose, entire portions of the map get obliterated during the ending, and the game continues after the ending as well, and you end up making friends and enemies, ect.

The game Hatred doesn't have any essential characters either. Because the game has no loving storyline. If Fallout 4's story was "you wake up somewhere, also nothing you do matters at all" then it wouldn't need any essential characters either. Also: there is no 'Yes Man' equivalent character for Fallout 4's particular story line that would make any reasonable amount of sense. So yeah, it would be loving handicapped.

Oh yeah? So 1 idiot proof essential character in NV is apparently worse than like 20+ idiot proof essential characters in Fallout 4? How about the 100+ idiot proof essential characters in Skyrim?

So Fallout 4 has a better story because it has more idiot proofing mechanics? So the less idiot proofing mechanics the worse the story is?

You're missing the point. New Bagel's story was so flat-out simple that they didn't need any essential characters. The story consisted of waking up in the desert and then you bllaarrrgh hum gunurrfff durrrr for ??? reason, and then suddenly the faction of your choice has control of the strip or the dam or whatever. You don't NEED any essential characters for that story. Do you get that? The simpler your story is, the less essential characters are needed. The more complicated your story is, the more essential characters are required. Seriously, amnesiac characters are the easiest characters to write in the world. New Vegas' story line was hardly impressive and I wouldn't of wanted to see it reflected in Fallout 4 at all. When it comes time that I want to play as a different character with a different backstory, I will download an alternative start mod.

Did it even occur to you that some people might not like the idea of accidentally killing someone and in the process locking themselves out of huge parts of quests without their knowledge? That's why the essential characters are there: so you CAN go on murder rampages without the fear of accidentally loving yourself over game-play wise. And for people who DO want to lock themselves out of the game for reasons unbeknownst to all, you can download a mod (it's an INCREDIBLY easy one to make).

Also why do you need +16 lines for 5 sentences you numbskull?

I recall getting pretty spooked at one point when I saw a brotherhood initiate run around a corner at me, missing a head and left arm. Turns out he'd gotten pretty forgeted up by a deathclaw but somehow managed to live on with no head.

Is someone who is willing to cheat on their partner really someone you want to be with? What happens when you're in a relationship and she starts signalling someone else?

I wouldn't touch her with a 20 foot pole personally.

That's the only reason I haven't done it already, but she talks to me and it seems like they're having relatively gnarly relationship problems.

Nope. Recently I grew really close to a girl, felt a lot of potential. Then she told me she was moving across the planet in like, a month, so that kinda cut me up.

Figured I might as well ask here - should I ask out this one girl who's in a relationship? She's given me pretty clear signs of interest.

sorry but i never gave it to poke/smooth

We should believe this guy, because he's obviously a very reputable person.

Again, I'm sorry for posting this, Met, but what the forget.
It was going to be found out soon anyways, so don't entirely blame me.

Why are you sorry? Hackers are the scourge of the online gaming community. If anything you should've come out with this earlier. Hackers shouldn't have any loving friends or any kind of loyalty aligned toward them.

Tony thinks having no essential characters is a good, or even remotely impressive thing. The only reason it was possible in New Vegas was because there was a dumb back-up plan made with an essential character (LoL!) which the game would automatically default to for murdering everyone like a loving idiot.

Idiot-proofing =/= good story telling. Not that the stories in NV were remotely interesting anyway. It was just a bunch of stuffty, boring-as-all-forget factions jerking each other off in the desert. The good thing about this idea was that it was SO SIMPLE it would be hard to forget it up like how Fallout 3 got forgeted up. Bethesda could EASILY do something like this for Fallout 4, they just decided not to, because it would be handicapped as all forget. I could come up with a back-up storyline on the spot right now.

he raises good points

instead of hating tell him why he is wrong?

All of his points/opinions/arguments have been separately roasted by everyone in the thread simultaneously. He responds by changing the subject and then bringing it back up like two pages later. It's quite pathetic, really.

To be fair, you can't really have a 'wrong opinion'. I mean, you can have a garbage opinion that legitimately everyone in the thread disagrees with (even after you've shoved it down their throat 18 times already), the problem with Tony is that he has this weird draconian concept that the game would be better for everyone if they were forced to play his trash game.

You could always just mod it.

"You should mod in a feature that's already in the base game"
- idiot

I hadn't even heard of Almost Unbreakable legendary power armor beforehand anyways so that's cool

It basically just gives each affected piece 4x the health. Figured it'd be neat to suit up a companion with it considering the pieces can still take damage when they're using it.

Anyone know where I could find some Almost Unbreakable power armor pieces? Or is the stuff just basically non-existent?

you think that's hostile?
that is like, SJW levels of sensitivity lol

This is basically the conclusion I've come to. He believes his (bad) opinions are facts and interprets disagreement as personal hostility.

Turns out, it has double the value of a regular baseball.
Which is to say it has a value of 8 caps.

Check the baseball dude at Diamond City, he gives a quest looking for signed baseball equipment.
