I need an script that sorts the addon list in the custom gamemode.
Mainly due to the fact that on one of my Linux machines, the list is a unorganized mess due to I think is the fact the file system is Ex4 and for some reason Blockland reads the addons in not the order of the folder but in the order their written to the hard drive.

Help / Addon List is not Organized

One of my Linux Machines that my brother uses to play BL has a issue where the addon list is horrendously Unorganized.

Things I have tried : Default addons only - same effect, sorting folder - same effect

I even tried using Support_FixAddonSorting by pecon, but for some reason the addon does not execute.

The file format is in ex4 if that helps, I really need to get this fixed.

I thought of this due to the fact that I got tired of going to servers and having them use custom studs that break shaders (I'm looking at you squidey's studs).

This is really ruining the shader experience, and I never really thought about it until I got a new gpu that could run shaders at max at 60fps.

One of the reasons old studs like those break shaders are due to them not having proper transparency.The best way to show an example of this is to show you the brickTOP.png

Below is an example of the old 125% studs, notice how they are not completely transparent.


And Here is how I fixed the 125% studs, by increasing transparency and leaving darker corners.



In a nutshell, to fix the studs, you just need to remake the stud at a even greater transparency, and just leaving a certain corner darker.

UPDATE : I just found out textures that cover brickSIDE and brickBOTTOM are affected as well.
If your textures use custom bottom and sides, I would suggest fix them or refrain from using.

Suggestions & Requests / RTB Pref Manager/ Legacy Support.

Support_RTBPref or whatever it was called is down, the link leads to a 404, on top of that development for it is ceased, and normal RTB just can not handle the new datablock limit ( buffer overflow).

We need a temporary solution to managing some rtb prefs, because as far as I know BRV is not going to have legacy support for prefs any times soon.

Its a necessity for hosting servers, and as I stated existing RTB can not handle the new datablock limit.

If anybody has a temporary solution, that would greatly help.

Suggestions & Requests / Map to Static Shape Port Request : Spyglass

I was wondering if anybody would be kind enough to attempt porting the old Map Spyglass to a static shape map, I think it should be simpler due to the fact it doesn't have complex shapes like the bedroom.

I mainly wanted to use it to remake my old Spyglass TDM, I tried making a map, but accuracy to the map proved to be difficult just using mod terrain.

I am aware of the possibility of collision errors, but I don't think they would be a bother.

As of 6/2/15 this is now a suggestion for BRV features, locked.


Basically we have all sort of ways to announce server information :Bottom Prints, Chat text, Center Messages.

But there is one issue with those, you are limited in space of information.

So here is my idea : A ticker board that shows up when you announce things and repeats it once or twice. Here is a video if your unfamiliar with ticker boards : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJZCfOa8Tf0

The ticker would show up from the top of the screen down, with a transparent black bg and white text much like what you would see in the start a game gui, your message could be short or long and you would have an option of the ammount of times the message would repeat (defaults should be once or twice)

Text size would also be a preference, or overall size as well, if you want it as a steam notification style or to take up an entire like at the top of the screen would be a option.

Yes I do know this guy has a history of being a asshat, but this guy takes it to a whole new level here.

He starts by spamming grenades on the server, basically there is a spawn area that he keeps setting grenades on and people keep getting spawnkilled due to it sending people into insta-kill water, I should have taken pics but didn't think about doing it until he threatened to ddos the server, because he was getting tired of people talking crap to him.

Later he stopped spamming grenades and then he started getting pissed at the other people that kept spawn killing him for his grenade spamming, he kept talking stuff, and eventually he got grenade spammed and that basically caused him to say he was going to ddos the server and then he disconnected.

So after he left I decided to scroll up and take screenshots of him talking stuff, grenade spamming, and the part where he threatens to ddos and then right after I screenshot the first part the server starts lagging really bad and I get disconnected with the "Server Timed Out" message.


So did he ddos or not, I don't really know. Mr.nobody could of shut down the server (but he was afk) or it was custardo being an starfish.

Hopefully someone can clear up what the hell caused the server to time out, because I highly doubt custardo has the capability to ddos.

Aside from that I'm ready for a whole new world of pain, one of those is something called the DMV, where you wait endlessly.

Suggestions & Requests / New Forum rule regarding RTB re-posts.

This has been an ongoing issue ever since RTB got removed, every few weeks, sometimes even days, there is a new post from a person who just registered , with just a repost to either DaProg's RTB or the RTB Archive.

Should it fall under the spam category, even if its days apart? I think it should.
I know these are new users but the fact is most of them only register to post one thread that usually just contains a link to DaProg's RTB or the archive.

Did I forget to mention the Archive is a sticky and that DaProg's RTB is also usually on the first page of the addon list?
There is no reason to repost something that is on page one.

I think there should be a new rule to not repost these links, some of the threads should also fall under the uploading a stolen addon rule as well, considering some of the threads the person who uploads it claims they made the addon, when its clearly Daprog's RTB.

These threads should be deleted if seen and if there is a penalty for this type of thing it should be a ban of 1 day.

Edit: 2 Said no, explain yourselves please.

Please do not come into this thread and start complaining about people with squeaky voices, if you have a problem with it than there should be a client mute option.

Please do not recommend Teamspeak, others need to download it to use it, and Steam Chat requires the same.

And the same goes for Mic spammers, just mute them.

Yes I have posted this suggestion twice now, and I will keep trying.

The main reason I think we need it is mainly the fact some find voice chat as a easier way to communicate, for example when your in a TDM, or an intense situation, stopping to type is not the best option.
While that is not the best example I think others may also find it better than our current only option, just by personal preference.

I don't think I want to bandwagon the "Oh X game has voice chat and if X game has it we should too"
I simply think we need it now, specially now that we have more steam users that are used to voice chat being a primary way to communicate.

If you don't like it you should simply be given the option to turn it off.


Please discuss this matter, if you feel we should not have Voice chat, please explain why.

New and Improved Variable Condition Events.

We need a new true replacement to VCE that isn't buggy or "Coded Poorly"

I don't really know what else to say, but relying on the currently available VCE is not a good idea.
Things break often, there where many functions that could of been shortened instead of being turned into a giant wall of events.

I know I forgot something else, but I think it was some game breaking bug that also never got fixed.


Name Suggestions to differ from the existing VCE and to avoid possible confusion ect.
  • VES - Variable Event System (Simple Straight to the Point)
  • SES - Scripted Event System (I know their not really scripts but I liked the idea.)

Welcome to the Anti-Virus/Malware Discussion thread, discuss your go to Anti Virus/Anti-Malware here and be sure to recommend what you use and why.

Currently Trying Avira Anti-Virus, will soon post how it worked for me...

Also please note the differences of Anti-Malware and Anti-Virus software, while there is some that can do both, they don't usually get them instantly.

Abbreviation Dictionary ( Got these from my own head, so if I got something wrong don't yell at me.):

[AV] Anti-Virus - Protects and removes viruses(Virus - Generally malicious software that can replicate and do harm to a computer)
[AM] Anti-Malware - Mainly designed around removing Malware and rarely designed to have a routine scan system (Malware - Acronym for Malicious Software incase you didn't know, software that contains code that does harm to a computer)
[AS] Anti-Spyware - Designed to fight Spyware another form of a virus.(Spyware - Acronym for Spying Software, any form of software/code that logs your actions in a malicious way.
[AMU] Anti-Multi - Anti X Software that can remove multiple sorts of viruses, wether it is Malware,Spyware or a generic virus.


I do not recommend(See reasons) :
  • Avast - Was good until 2015 version removed once free features and constantly asks you to buy it, also now includes desktop ads.
  • AVG - I left it for the same reason, removed free features, begged to buy.
  • Norton - Disk Usage is 100% no matter what, impairs performance

I do recommend :
  • [AM]Malwarebytes (A great option as it also scans the memory pool)
  • [AS] Super-Anti Spyware (Great for nasty trojans that refuse to be removed)
  • [AMU]Roguekiller (This is far by the best, it can get rid of anything regardless of how infected a system is, but it can leave the system with a bit of errors if Vital parts of Windows are deleted

I just remembered  about qeffects.gl and how it added Bloom to games, and then I thought "What if Blockland had a bloom option"
Maybe bricks with Glowfx would have a fuzzy glow look, lights would be enhanced...

So my two main questions are:
1. Can this be done without an engine change?
2. If so would it require modifying external Blockland Files, like the custom shaders?
