AoT General / How popular was this game in its heyday?

I was thinking about the remnant community that still posts here, and I was hit with a thought:

If this game has gone through its life cycle, yet stuff in it remains unfinished and broken from what this board's threads tell me, how popular was this game when it was still vibrant?

Has it always been a niche sort of thing? Iirc, this game was advertised above blockland for a while; when did blockland overtake it? How long have the AoT forums been a subset of the Blockland forums? Have there ever been any successful clans in the game's history?

ok so i've been building a bit, and i don't want to drown the dof screenshot board
so here's how i'm going to do this
i'm going to post some normal shots and a dof shot or two of a build then link to much larger imgur albums containing more dof and normal shots of various angles and times of day
builds will be titled and given a bit of a lead-in before the pictures
Grey House
A grey brick house with some furnishings and a television that has hyper-realistic static effects

A round, grey hovel with some blacksmith equipment inside. Features an extreme lack of screenshots.

Some cabin in some area near some mountains. It is currently the largest house, with five rooms. However, it lacks a proper kitchen.

Help / Blockland quits when I open it

I'm running the Macintosh Blockland Launcher version, it normally works. I'd post a crash dump, but the application quits without providing one. It's confirmed to quit with or without background applications running. It ran perfectly fine last night, and I haven't installed any new add-ons since then. My only download that could have potentially harmed it would be Papers, Please, and that's stored in a separate folder from the game files.

For whatever reason, the "no weapons" clause of my school's rules specifically mentions a ban on nunchucks and throwing stars.

I guess they had a problem with ninjas at some point.

I was looking around the Statistics page, and the user who's been online the longest is Idle, with about 843 hours 817 days. She has no posts, and an ID of 414. The image in their signature leads to Project Xanadu, a hypertext project with an absolutely ancient website design.

What is her purpose? Does anyone know?

I'm trying to change my avatar from a still image to a 5 frame gif. When I first changed my avatar to the gif, it plays through the animation once before freezing on the last frame. I've attached the gif below. The flicker on the animation is a result of my crap editing skills when I was trying to crop the original gif. Is this just a client-sided issue?
