He keeps claiming to be making forum simulator videos, yet either none of them come out or he isn't sharing a link to them

all I can really tell you without using the bullstuff excuse "building is just something that happens" is that you'll want to look at what other people do and practice a lot, figure out what works and what doesn't

you'll also want to be humble enough to listen to constructive criticism and use it to improve your builds
