funny how a country that fought hard to desegregate establishments still makes it legal to force women to enter through a 'women's only' entrance. its also funny how this same entrance is usually the least maintained, least accessible door to the property.
it's not just synagogues, but mosques too. how is it even protected by law to discriminate based on gender?
illegal and discriminatory behaviors should not be allowed to lawfully exist simply because "it's their religion"
to take things to an extreme, should a religion about cannibalising every other woman in a practiser's family be allowed to operate just because it's a religion that has been around for a long time?
i believe the reason this is allowed to happen is because of the concepts like diversity and tolerance being pushed to unreasonable levels, where religions like islam are tolerated despite the illegality of many aspects of the faith, ideas like freedom of religion being held sacred, but then so is the idea of human rights. there's a contradiction there and for some reason the former is being chosen over the latter
