(clicky wikipedia url)

The B-2 Spirit bomber is a great choice. It's simple to get the topography right, but it still leaves many ways to show off skills in certain areas. Such as smooth shading, seams, mirror planes, texturing, but not spending too much time on it etc.

This is a little too simple in the wrong areas that I'm going for simplicity. I was thinking of something pretty boxy like a tank that has very little curves.

Gotta make a model for my assignment. It can be a plane or tank or submarine. Preferably something easy so I can enjoy my spring break and not do assignments.
Suggestions pls.

I just read my brief and I didn't realize there is a specified limit to what I can choose:
1. a WW2 bomber with four propeller engine
2. 1970 to 1979 Formula 1 car
3. WW2 submarine (full sized)
4. any mainstream tank produced in 2000 to 2015.

Would be looking within either option 1 or 4.

I'm going to do an M1 Abrams. Which model is produced between 2000 to 2015?

I've been trying to spark up some home DIY projects too, but I sorta have a major shortage of tools in my current home. My suggestion would be seeing if you can turn a mountain bike into a pedal assisted improv dirt bike. You can do it with something like a chainsaw engine or a weed-whacker, it's not incredibly difficult either if you have some knowledge of engines. Especially if you have the capability of welding and other advanced tools. It would be a pretty interesting project if you do plan on building a go-kart. They're not incredibly powerful but you can certainly get to a decent speed on a chainsaw bike. If you can find some legal loopholes you could probably ride it on bike/footpaths as well without needing a motorcycle license too lol, seen it happen before

My second suggestion would be building a forge (much easier than you'd think) and seeing if you can blacksmith some kind of camping axe/knife, but I doubt UK legislature would take very kindly to something like that lol

Yeah I'd probably make a gokart using a leaf blower or chainsaw motor. A forge is a little too far. Lets remember I am renting the house, I can't do whatever I want lol

aforementioned iron rooster statue
Yes

A nuclear shelter
no

Why don't you build a sculpture that embodies some element of life that you would like to be present in your home.
Like a giant metal bong.
yes

Obviously you're not going to be that good at it because you don't have a creative bone in your body but hey you can damned well try!
you know me so well.

Off Topic / Forums, I need your help again:: The DIY Project Edition
« on: March 15, 2016, 07:04:18 PM »
Hello forums, its your favorite lizard god again just here to ask for your help.
I'll try and keep this short and sweet.
Recently I've been struggling to relieve myself creatively with everything going on with university, my social life and general gaming. I have a serious lack of creativity in my life and when I don't do anything creative for a while, I get agitated and start to go a little crazy. So, I've decided to plan to do something when I move out of my apartment and into my house in August!
I'm still a student (so money will be an issue) but I will have lots more space as I will have a large back garden (or 'yard' for you Americans) which has a firepit.

I want to do something creative. I'll be able to buy a few basic tools as well as a spot welding kit, and be able to buy some cheap materials (which I'd rather salvage). I don't know what I want to build right now, however I've got a pretty good knowledge of design and I'd probably be doing this with a friend.
What I want from you guys is suggestions of what to build. After I've had a few suggestions, I'll make a poll. So far the only thing I can think of making is a motorized go-kart.

tldr; What should I make in my back yard?

Been playing level 30 darkzone today. Its really fun and rewarding once you get in a good group. Haven't seen any players killing other players (except when I've killed a lone wanderer)
End game does look pretty promising, I hope they continue to bring out updates for level 30 players. Trading would be cool too.
