and I found some interesting things.

Instead of something like
Code: [Select]
if(%admin)
{
%powerful = "yes";
}
else
{
%powerful = "not at all";
}
Or even
Code: [Select]
switch(%admin)
{
case 1:
%powerful = "yes";
case 0:
%powerful = "nopenopenope";
}

I can just use
Code: [Select]
%powerful = %admin ? "yes" : "nope";
If admin is 1, powerful is "yes". If admin is 0, powerful is "no".

I did not know of this.

I also learned that % can be used to find the remainder of an division operation.
So like.  34 goes into 40 once, with a remainder of 6.
So echo(40 % 34); returns 6.
40 % 22 returns 18.
40 % 18 returns 4.  Cause 18 goes into 40 2 times, with a remainder of 4.

Of equal interest, though I didn't learn it from that particular page, I learned that-
instead of using %a++;  or %a = %a + 1; to increment %a by 1.
I can use %a += 1;  or if i want to increment it by five I can use %a += 5;
Similarly I can use all of the normal operators to do stuff like this-
if %a = 6 then:
%a += 5; sets %a to 11
%a -= 2; sets %a to 4
%a /= 3; sets %a to 2
%a *= 2; sets %a to 12
%a %= 5; sets %a to 1

Interesting stuff.  I hope it's useful to someone other than me.

Add-Ons / AirSwimmer - Flying Without Jets

I made these a while ago.
The idea was to make a floating system, to simulate entering and leaving a space station.  It worked, but wasn't very easy to use.  So I adapted it to serve as a replacement for auto-jets.  For building.

Script_AirSwimmer_Buildmode
Creates a small, zero gravity water zone around the player, and a smaller trigger zone as well.  Leaving the trigger zone moves both zones to the player's new position.

Slash Commands
/StartFlight - Start flying.
/StopFlight - Stop flying.
/toggleflight - Toggle flight on or off.
/tasclient - Admin/Host Only.  Toggles whether clients can start or stop flying.
/tasadmin - Host Only. Toggles whether admins can start or stop flying.  Also toggles whether or not admins can toggle client flight.

Client_AirSwimmer_Buildmode
Adds keybinds in the controls section for /startflight, /stopflight, and /toggleflight.
Only works on servers with Script_AirSwimmer_Buildmode enabled.
Or, I guess some other mod that uses /startflight, /stopflight, or /toggleflight.

Modification Help / Resource Generator Wanted

Hey I'm making a 3d maze generator.
This is what it looks like right now.


This is a scaled down test to save time.


Each 8x cube will be replaced with a hollow tunnel piece.


The colours are there to track what tunnel brick WOULD be there.








The live process of it building itself is more impressive than anything else.  It would be easy to switch over to a "build when complete" method to save time.


I wanted to add randomly generated resources as a feature of this maze.  So player's could collect the resources, and use them to build shelters, path markers, stairs and ladders, etc.
Upon writing down the requirements for the resource generation I realized that this was a separate enough project that someone else could do it, and it would still work just fine with the maze.

So, I'm here now asking if someone else wants to create a resource generation mod.
The mod would need to-
Generate resources randomly over an area. (I can modify this easily.)
Have mineable resources, via some method.  Picks would be preferred, but I'd leave that up to you.
Mined resources would need to be transferable between clients.
Resources would be used to build bricks.  Not enough resources? No building.
Resources would be refundable.  Break a brick and you get your stuff back.

General Discussion / Dglider's Addon Climb

Hey, did you play Dglider's addon climb, climb to the top and find nothing there?

Were you pissed?

Well I feel terrible about that.  Anyhoo, what happened was, halfway through the climb, the autosaver broke.
So I saved manually, reset the server, and then everything continued.    Buuuuuut, when I saved, I didn't fly up to 0 0 5000 to load the goal.
So, when I reloaded everything, the goal point wasn't there, and I didn't check for it.

This morning I noticed the issue and loaded the goal point from a backup.

My sincerest apologies to anyone who committed Self Delete.

General Discussion / Tendon's Testing Server

Hey I made a mod that creates a zero-gravity water block around the player, and then makes it follow the player around.  Essentially letting them swim in midair or- uh. fly.

As of right now I've only been able to test it alone.  And I need to make sure it doesn't lag a ton when you get a large amount of people flying at once.
So I'm gonna host a "Testing Server" this afternoon-
Friday December 5th @ 1 PM PST | 2 PM MST | 3 PM CST | 4 PM EST.

I'll be building a Giant Robot.  You can build whatever you want.  So I guess it's a freebuild.

I'll have the permissions mod enabled, so everyone will be able to teleport around like an admin.
A few custom brickpacks.  Tier+Tactical.  A few vehicles, VCE and its associated perils.  Y'know.  The basic stuff.

If you wanna help me test it out just come check out Tendon's Testing Server on Friday Dec 5 after 1 PM PST | 2 PM MST | 3 PM CST | 4 PM EST.  I'll keep it up as long as I can, and I'll update this post when it is done.

I'll be satisfied enough to release the mod if it doesn't lag with 8 people flying at once.

Add-Ons / Script_ModTer_setGround

Usage:
Step 1.  Enable either Brick_Modter_BasicPack, Brick_ModTer_InvertedPack, or enable both.
Step 2.  Enable Script_ModTer_setGround
Step 3.  Be amazed as any ModTer bricks you leave in midair will stay there! :O

This addon essentially just makes the ModTer Bricks emulate the behavior of Brick_Floating_Support.  The game thinks the bricks are connected to the ground, and so you can use them as supports in midair.

Please note that with this add-on enabled you can no longer collapse a tower of modter bricks with a wand.  You must delete each modter brick seperately.

To demonstrate the abilities of this mod, I destroyed ACM City.  ...  I hope you're happy.

Usage:
Step 1.  Build a tower of 1x1x5s.
Step 2.  Place Floating Support.
Step 3.  Delete tower of 1x1x5s.
Step 4.  Build things on top of the Floating Support.

The game will treat this brick as if it is on the ground, whether it actually is, or not.  This means it can be used as a support point for other bricks.

Add-Ons / Script_SetMeanHeight

Usage:
/setmeanheight
   Sets the water height to the average brick height.
/setmeanheight #
   Sets the water height to the value you specify.

This addon will not work properly if
   a. You are not admin.
   b. There is no water present on the map.
   c. It is not enabled on the server.

This add-on won't set the water height above 100.  This is because the water zone the default game creates is 100 units high.

Hey I made a thing.  It took me a few days to put together, and it's pretty basic at its core, but Its working now.  And that's pretty much all that matters to me at this point. :o  Tell me if it breaks.  Or actually, maybe don't.  If you didn't I could remain in blissful ignorance for a while. :D

Goal
   Collect all of the keys.
Equipment
   Recurved Bow
   Various types of magic.
      Each magic spell has a secondary ability, ranging from healing, to damage reduction, to setting yourself on fire(for hugs of course).

Modification Help / Set the view distance above 1000?

Is there any way to set the view distance above 1000 without using an external program?  I've been using Cheat Engine, but it's a pain to set up, and if there's an easier way I'd certainly like to know of it.

Suggestions & Requests / Saving ALL Brick Ownership

Currently(or the last time I checked) brick ownership is saved via a sort of stack system.  All of the bricks in a stack inherit the ownership of the brick at the bottom of the stack.  So if Blocklander A creates a house and a yard, and then Blocklander B build's a treehouse on Blocklander A's lawn.  Then the ownership of Blocklander B's treehouse is lost when the build is saved.  So when they return the next day to continue building, Blocklander B cannot continue building his treehouse without some sort of add-on, trust from Blocklander A, or a bit of tricky saving/loading.  This can be a real problem with large community builds and any sort of events that use named bricks.

I'd like to see some sort of an option to save ALL ownership in the default game.  Maybe a "save as > Commmunity Build" sort of feature.
