People can alch them for 55k or so. Even I had 50 of them! And that's not much.. most people had at least 500 or 600. That's 60m. There is no economy now, so I'm playing a new server that's runescape back in the good old days. The training is slow enough (but not agonisingly so) and it was written from scratch so it's not copyrighted. :DWoah!
