That's good to know. I had to leave the server open the other night because I didn't know the password.
Yeah, it was becoming a big issue. This won't kick, but since MM requires an admin to start it people just leave after about 5 minutes.

Update!
  • Added new gamemode (zombie sounds) by Gytyyhgfffff
  • The server is now passworded with "a". Only an admin can join with that password. If they do, the server will open and remove the password. If there are no admins, the server will announce that it closed, get passworded, and allow no further players to join.
Thanks TheBlackParrot for providing the opening/closing system.

Make sure you can start the server with a gamemode too. It's really convenient. Also, make sure the crash-fixing Blockland executable comes stock with the server or you're going to have a flood of support questions.

Another thing I noticed is that way more people bought BlockNet while the budget node and the high-end node existed. One was $6 and the other was $11. Market is small, but if the nodes are small it could work out. I never understood why the budget node was removed besides money reasons. Pecon could probably explain why this is a good/bad idea better than I can.

Quick (stupid) question, would BL Glass be required to host this or is this just called Glass Hosting Service because you also run BL Glass? Sorry for the dumb question
I'm assuming you can choose to control your server via your browser or in-game. However, Scout31 said that it'd be an independent add-on integrated into the Glass overlay, like the preferences. Whatever floats your boat.

Do it. One thing though: how come the investment for a rental key is $20? Keys sell for $10 right now on Amazon and blockland.us.

Kinda like RTB, have a good control panel to use online. I loved how RTB had a place to view chat online and even talk to your players online. You could enable addons and even admin/deadmin people.
To add on to what I said:

With Steam, people have no key to use for a hosting service. Hosting services literally have handicaps. You have to provide rental keys to host under. Free rental keys after some time on the service might attract more buyers, because it probably feels like you're getting ripped off when you have to pay an extra dollar for something Steam players can't control like BlockNet did.

Edit: Also, I'd love to have another hosting service. I've bought over 1.5 years of hosting service from HammerHost and BlockNet.

If enough people were interested, I could start up a Glass hosting service for ~$5 a month as a replacement, but I feel like it's a dying market and may not be worth investing my time in.
Key to getting people is cheaper starting prices and advertising. BlockNet was booming until people forgot it existed. Having a hosting service tied in with Blockland Glass seems like it'd get more attention, especially is you had server controls built into the Blockland Glass client.

more information.
what's happening?
It displays an almost blank page with either bool(0) or bool(false). The file I'm uploading includes the colorSet.txt and description.txt. Name is "ColorSet_Rggbnnnnn.zip".
