maybe he wants to see the affects that happens when you stay up for 48hrs??????
Yes, he wants to feel the negative and crippling effects of sleep deprivation when they've been clearly written out for him.

At least with drugs there's always discussion about the positive things, like the high you get or a boost of energy or whatever the forget, and that might be tempting to experience regardless of the side effects. I don't think I've seen a single positive talked about by people who've had sleep deprivation, so realistically the only people who would be keeping themselves up out of curiosity are either scientists researching the effects or loving mental cunts, and I don't think McZealot has a clipboard.

When did I become the loving bad guy for suggesting this was a bad idea? Should I just turn heels and say "Yeah, go ahead, make yourself feel like stuff! Woohoo, you go man!"? I'm not understanding why people are arguing this with me.

im glad you're so concerned and care about him so much mcjob. I'm pretty sure he's looked it up. Why don't you go to the drug thread and tell them how bad it is for them to do drugs? They don't want to hear it.
Because drugs are different, you twat. Sleep is basic loving common sense, whereas I could understand a person wanting to at least try a drug out to get a first hand experience.

I'm sorry that I have a thing against people being loving thick when they should know better.

5-6 people simply hopped on the "Poke holes in Jitank's argument!" train and completely nullified any hope for their actual understanding of the issue at hand. Seriously, grow up.
This isn't the loving BLM Forums, you cunt. Nobody here has any power to actually change anything, and I really doubt anybody cares that much about these issues to want to go into giant paragraphs of debate given that very few people tried to bring the serious discussion back. I just want Tony to post more so I can cheer him on for once.

Everybody was against Jitank because he was being a massive Tumblr-sourced Drama Queen, and it was loving annoying. He derailed any possible good quality discussion to start claiming that white people are evil or some stuff. Telling people that they're acting like cunts is infinitely more interesting than social issues or history.

Instead of simply dismissing any sensible voice in the thread and focusing on an easy target (Not saying Jitank is an easy target in what he was trying to get across, but in that it is too easy for a group of 5-6 people to tear at his words.), try to actually LISTEN to the voices of not only those who experience the long-lasting effects of these issues on a daily basis, but of those who are obviously well-educated enough to speak on the matter.
Oh my sweet loving jesus, are you trying to play the "I'm more educated than you so only I'm allowed to speak about it" pretentiousness card? Holy forget, get out of this thread and get your head out of your arse, mate.

You are not the be all and end all. Your points of debate will be completely irrelevant the minute this thread goes dead. I also like how, looking through your post history, there's quite a lot in slavery topics but not much else. Nice. One-track mind, I like it.

i have also stayed up 48+ hours
i went to sleep and wow i was completely fine
While the worst effects may not present themselves unless it's a regular occurrence, I still don't think it's something we should be actively encouraging, even if it's only a one off thing.

I'd also recommend looking at the 'Fatigue' page on the same website as that last link.

And regardless of possible permanently health effects, I already outlined exactly how the forget you'll feel half way through the process. It's not fun or funny at all. It's just a stupid thing to do. You're not going to learn anything new from this experience, except for possibly the feeling of regret.

staying awake for 2 days isn't going to make anything really bad happen. if he goes past that, maybe. but if he just goes for the 48 hours, he's fine.
Oh yeah, that's exactly my recollection of my experience, or what other students tried to warn me about during Major Project. 48 hours and then I got sleep and I was totally fine. No problems, nuh-uh.

Look at the bunch of physicians on this site, guys! Full of accurate, up-to-date medical advice. I'm proud of you forgeters.

Whackin bought me LEGO Harry Potter, and Squartle got me the LEGO Batman Trilogy.

Meanwhile, I purchased:

  • Quake
  • LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7
  • Doom Classic Complete
  • LEGO® Pirates of the Caribbean The Video Game
  • METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES
  • LEGO® MARVEL's Avengers DLC - Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War Character Pack

EDIT: Post sale that Account Value figure is going to shoot up and I'm gonna be set.

Ideally I'll want to buy the LEGO Batman III DLC and the other two Metal Gear Solid games on Steam before the sale ends. I hear that LEGO Marvel Avenger's Ant Man Pack will also go on sale soon, so I'll be looking to get that (for 100% completeness sake).

IIRC there's no long term effects to sleep deprivation as long as they eventually get some sleep
And there's especially not gonna be much trouble with just 2 days of staying awake
Thanks, Doctor, want to back up your assertions mate?

I'm extremely glad you're here egging him on. You'd make for a great guidance councillor.

No, how about you forgeters stop? You're loving encouraging ineptitude against basic loving common sense. It's RIDICULOUS.

It's always nice to know that, with a few exceptions like Dannu, the majority of the forums is more than happy to egg you on for stupid plans.

Let's keep this short. I came to the BLF well after I had sense smacked into me. I did not have the same level of intellect when I tried running my own (free) forum for an absolutely awful Total Overhaul I was working on for Halo:CE.

This stuff isn't the worst, but it should be enough:

[Note: The "Oh No You Don't!" thing was me coming back years later to remove any personally identifying information I was handicapped enough to add to my posts, such as email, name, location, age etc.]

I've locked the forums down, so even if you figure out where it is you won't be able to get in.

Case fans are controlled in the same way; check the BIOS. I updated my previous post with info on where to look.

Also, wtf, apparently Blockland blocks you for saying quotation marks F 12 without spaces. Very weird.

Off Topic / Re: CPU fan software?
« on: June 30, 2016, 10:44:48 AM »
Any modern BIOS is capable of adjusting the speed of all the fans connected to the motherboard, including your CPU fan. In some BIOSs, there are settings for "Quiet Mode" which will force the CPU fan to run at a lower, quieter speed (but will also decrease performance to make sure the CPU doesn't overheat).

There is software to overclock (or underclock) your fans, but it's fairly complex. Best to confirm with your BIOS.

As espio said, turning the CPU fan off is a recipe for disaster. The GPU will only be in use so long as there's actually something to render to the screen, hence why the fans can safely be "turned off" (I doubt they're actually completely off, but are running at a very low speed). The CPU is the brains of the computer and will always be performing operations and gets very hot due to how small the components inside are, and even when it doesn't seem to be doing anything the workload (and temperatures by extension) may spike depending on what processes are running at any given time. Even sitting idle in a cold roon can be risky without a functioning fan.

For quick reference, BIOS (Basic Input Output System) is the very first screen you see when the computer boots, and it controls all of the very low level, basic things about how the PC operates. The BIOS screen will usually have a big logo in the centre of the screen with a loading bar, and you'll see some text in a corner referring to boot options. You'll want to find your way to the options menu (consult the manual for your PC/Motherboard) and from there see what you can do about the fans.

Once during Major Project (due to crunch deadlines and having to restart content another time) and through the length of GameJam, I pushed myself to stay up for somewhere between 48 - 54 hours a piece.

It's an absolutely horrible loving ordeal and I would never, ever recommend it anybody. Sleep is completely, utterly necessary. This is a stupid idea and you're being a right twat for going on with it. Aside from general "I feel like stuff" feelings, look forward to fantastic muscle and mouth pains, lack of motor control, a slow and unresponsive thought process complete with short term memory loss, bad decision making (it ends up being like your inebriated except far more risky) and weeks of restlessness and pain to follow.

Get some loving sleep you cunt.

White Privilege is definitely real lmfao and so is cultural appropriation which i'm pretty sure you don't know what it is.
So, are you a really dedicated troll or are you just going to believe the stuff they spout on Tumblr because it makes you feel all warm inside that you get place yourself above others for a chance, since normally you'd require talent or a personality to be liked and respected?
