I admit that I'm really weird for thinking this, but I feel like E3 conferences shouldn't be judged on the strength of the individual game titles themselves, but rather on the presentation as a whole.

I totally can get behind picking favourites, and giving golden stars to games that happened to shine through terrible conferences, but I feel like when people rank the conferences they should be doing so on the strengths and weaknesses of the presenters, the trailer composition, the technicality of the conference and so on. People don't cheer, laugh, cringe or cry during these events just because their game's trailer got played, but because of the way the rest of the conference builds the hype and engages you.

For that reason, my ranks are so:

1) Sony: Extremely high class presentation with great pacing; no interviews and the hosts said only the minimum that was needed to be said. Good unveil of the hardware to boot. Only problem was that they ended the conference on the wrong thing (new IP based on the zombie-fad which is on the way out), but it was still an amazing conference overall.
2) Microsoft: At the time, this was just amazing after Day -1 failed to impress; after seeing Sony, it feels like they were so close, but just spent a tiny bit too much time faffing about and their indie games killed the atmosphere for certain other trailers.
3) Ubisoft: Bethesda with a little less disappointment and FAR more energy. Showcased much more EXCITING gameplay but they indulged in being a little too chatty at times (especially in regards to the movie).
4) Bethesda: So little energy between presenters; it felt like any momentum the game/trailer footage generated was instantly killed. Hell, Pete Hines looked basically dead and Todd Howard had lost his soul. There was also a bit too much time spent on slower (card) games, and far too much chatty-chatty. Compounded by technical problems during the event.
5) PC Gaming Show: THEY KILLED ALL THE MOMENTUM THAT MICROSOFT GENERATED! This only beat EA because they showed some gameplay. Otherwise, a complete waste of time and would have been better as standalone one-on-one interview videos between the other EA conferences. No big announcements or hype generated (in fact, I heard there was massive backlash to the Killing Floor 2 update).
6) EA: There's very high expectations for the company that goes first, and EA completely fumbled the ball and lost it. This was a conference designed for investors, not for media and consumers (like everybody else), and so they focused on features that they couldn't possibly build hype with. They also have failed to taken note that just because FIFA and Madden sell a lot of copies every year, doesn't mean those are the people watching E3.

I went and saw the Doctor. She took my blood pressure and insisted my heart rate was far above normal, and she constantly focused on my thyroid saying "that's not right". She asked if my family had any problems with gall stones or kidney problems (?) which I doubt we have, and I've been sober on everything for a couple months now.

The only temporary solution she could offer me was to "not drink tap water". She then sent me out for more data; I've done a blood test (might have to redo it though), and I need to now do two scans, one of my thyroid and one on my upper chest area. Because of how things are, I can't see her again until a minimum of Thursday.

It should be noted; my Mum does have thyroid problem so it's very likely I'm in big trouble here, and that this may end up going beyond throwing up every night (similar to how me being cold all the time lead to my doctors wanting to cut out one of my sinuses).

just curious was "sorry for misrakes" intentional
Holy stuff. No, I didn't mean that :|

could be acid reflex or w/e. have you tried sleeping in a different position?
Just start sleeping with your head progressively higher and higher and see if it helps by adding more pillows for your head.
Great suggestions, thank you guys. I'll give it an attempt tonight with a bucket at my side just in case.

does the muck burn when coming up?
Yes, but not as much as the spit/saliva/mucus stuff which I also sometimes get randomly during a day, leading me to believe this is Acid Reflux (but my doc wants to be sure, hence all the testing).

Putting Ubisoft down as a 'B' for me. They got too hung on the movie and the interviews dragged on a bit too long, also not happy with some of the music choices for the trailers. Still very excited for some of the games, for the first time in 5+ years of watching Ubisoft Press Conferences.

It was way better than the PC Gaming Show, for sure.

Typing on phone, sorry for misrakes.

For the past few weeks I've been developing a health issue and it's starting to really scare me now.

Essentially, I'll go to sleep just fine but I'll wake up, originally around about 2:30AM but tonight it was TWO hours after I went to sleep, at which point I will throw my guts out. Originally it was just spit bubbles, but now its the proper muck.

After each nightly event I cannot get back to sleep. This is what scares me most as I don't feel like dying by sleep depravation.

I'm going to a doctor tomorrow (it's been a struggle to organise). In the meantime, does anybody know what might be a cause?

This video goes through every reason why the Prey 2 cancellation hurts. There's some rough edges, but forget me they were still in full development at the time. God it's sad to think back now...

Chris Avellone a founder of obsidian is working on prey
That's doesn't make it any better. Gameplay > Story, and I was really looking forward to open-world parkour/shooting.

After the Bethesda conference, the guy from Arkane Studios in an interview said that they scrapped everything from the Prey franchise and decided to "reimagine" it their way. That appropriately translates to "we're too much pussies to actually put the work in to finish and release this game that was already a fair way through development."

it still has a chance to be good if they focus on what made the original fun
What I wanted was what I saw in the cinnematic trailer AND the IGN gameplay demo from E3 2011.

A bounty hunter in an open world space-station with parkour and shooter elements. It looked fantastic. I want that game.

I don't even care about the label. I just want somebody to do that game.

Completely, absolutely gutted about Prey. Such an unfortunate end to an amazing concept.

Dishonored 2 is looking loving GORGEOUS though, and I'm optimistic for Quake.

As mentioned above, the easiest way to watch E3 to join us in the special E3 CyTube at http://cytu.be/r/BlocklandatE3. It's set to sync up with the official E3 livestream coverage courtesy of the ESA and Twitch, but I can switch to other video feeeds if it goes down.

There's only 10 hours to go guys. It's been one hell of a year since the previous E3. Let's hope for a damn interesting one this year.

I'm saving up for an office to be an executive, but want to know how much it costs after the office, so the cost of warehouses.

I hate the grind for money in this game and just want to try something new, even though I only have 600k and no real assets. But if it's going to cost me an extra 1-2mil after the office then I won't even bother.

Do you even make decent cash from trading contraband?
Not sure on contraband, but the highest-level office with all additional extras (like the weapon store and the hidden safe) set me back about $6.5m. I believe the absolute cheapest is $1m, and then you have to buy the warehouse separate (not sure on pricing, probably in the hundreds of thousands).

whats wrong with kotaku
Terrible "journalists" who write fluff pieces with clickbait headlines. Very little integrity, and they focus on "social issues" rather than actual news.

For example, during a previous E3 Kotaku focused solely on a comment made during a scripted event (specifically, "Just let it happen." during a demo of Killer Instinct), rather than commenting on the quality of the game itself.
