Highly, highly recommend Unlocker, which is an application that tells you which programs are locking which files. It can attempt to force delete/rename the file as well as showing you who has control. Install, right-click and press "Who is locking this file/folder?"

I'd appreciate that, but unfortunately the money wouldn't arrive until too late (and I probably would have sold my guitar by then).

I'm going to talk to my Mum tonight since she's the one who told me to put my money in an untouchable investment fund in the first place.
