Then I discovered Tumblr.

How will Putin fund his glorious red army invasion fleet of invading people when it takes 65 Ruble to buy a cheap chocolate bar?

Abbott is a cunt, and is using this situation to scrape any bit of sympathy he can get after the past month.

It wasn't just Russell Brand calling him a dodgy cunt. Two morning TV presenters had interviews with him, and both loving slammed him into the wall. The radio and newspapers have had every jab they could too.

Not long now until he's ejected from office.

Also the media likes to sensationalize whatever stuff goes down that involves Muslims. This story will be aired for weeks.
It was going to be aired for the next two weeks anyway. The fact that there's Muslims will just give more fire to the kettle.

--

The reason for there being what seems like a lot of Muslim extremists, is because not too long ago a highly respected Sheikh basically said that the Qur'an allows for, and orders violence to be used in order to protect religious ideals and defend their honour.

Pretty shifty stuff.

Going to quickly double post with confirmed info from the Aussie police (as I understand it):

3 dead: The gunman, and two hostages, a 34 year old man and a 38 year old woman.

4 injured: One police officer, with a gunshot wound to the face. Three hostages, no word on their injuries. Currently being treated in different hospitals.

17 confirmed hostages.

try hard psychologist
I'm not "trying too hard" to be a psychologist. I don't have the credentials, but I'm trying to share my thoughts.

It doesn't bother me what profession people think I'm in. I'm trying to express how I understand the world.

trying to sound deep and rebellious.
Yeah, you have a point here, although I think that's partly how I'm used to writing; trying to throw in a lot of emotionally charged statements.

I don't think I just "tried", though. The whole point of me writing that was explaining that I don't want to be some shmuck who just "goes with the flow". It's an opinion piece, not fact.

I know you probably think I'm some handicapped friend neckbeard trying to make himself out as something bigger than he really is. You're free to think that and I appreciate the criticism. I just don't agree with you for the most part.

Cool, another edgy comment I can be confused about.

I loving love this thread, and I loving love you guys.

Reports are sketchy (the media is as usual posting bullstuff facts, but there are thankfully legit sources floating around since this happened in broad daylight), but basically at about 10AM a Muslim extremist (not associated with CIA, unlikely to be associated with Al-Queada) entered a Lindt Cafe (Lindt being the chocolate; this was a cafe which had some pretty good chocolate snacks and coffee) in Martin Place (one of the most crowded parts of Sydney city and recent hotbed for "terrorist" activity) and took everybody inside as hostages.

Reports say between 12 - 25 people are currently inside. Shortly after taking the hostages, the gunman forced everybody to hold up several Islamic flags which had some "graphic" messages on them proclaiming Islam as the most glorious state, or some bullstuff like that. Australia Federal Police were deployed and a negotiator arrived on scene, but they still haven't been able to get any communication between the two (unsure why).

The "terrorist" has since apparently somehow sent a message to police, stating that there are a number of devices around Sydney which are armed to explode, although that seems to be unconfirmed at this point.

A giant perimeter was set up around Martin Place, and people outdoors have been evacuated. Electricity was cut to a number of buildings, including ones where people are still residing. Several unattended back-packs were found, and they were empty.

Still no resolution to the case, but this is frankly piss-poor as far as drama goes. There's been no deaths or injuries (we know about), just a guy with a gun with a bunch of other people for the past few hours.

I'll keep you guys informed. I probably have to go near this cafe tomorrow, so I might be able to get you some footage. We'll see how the lockdown holds up.

probly because its easier to hold 20 people hostage than 300?
This cafe is located both right near a major police HQ, a Government building and only a block away from some of the major TV studios. Surely you'd want something a little more remote?

Whether this guy is CIA or just a mentally handicapped cunt, doesn't really concern me. What interests me is why he went for a cafe, and not for a more densely-packed place.

Anyways, the negotiator is out there right now, situation should be resolved quickly.
