How has nobody said Destiny RPG yet, that was amazing, and never hosted. Someone said they were going to do a remake of it, I forgot who, but they never finished it.
It was amazing, for a short period of time. The population would only last for a week, with the remaining tiny percentage arguing with each other over a reset. It scaled poorly and very slowly. Armor was absolutely ridiculous making the already impossible feat of using melee even more useless. As the armor only worked against melee. Ranged damage was written by another coder, who decided to make his own damage package for the ranged weapons, which completely ignores the already existing package for defense calculations. Earning said equipment was just as ridiculous, as it took several days of actual work, or a couple days botting, just so you can forget people over in the other nations. The runescape system works for runescape because of risk, population, and size of world. It does not work for what mess DRPG was.

The reason said remake never happened because anyone who's ever tried to make changes to DRPG realized it would be less effort to make a new RPG entirely, and even that is a lot of effort. The fact that 3 or 4 coders worked on it without any sort of organization shows if you look through the code. It's a mess. It lived a good life but it's time for it to die. It's one of the bigger projects BL's had, yeah, would be nice if someone would make something better.

Centhra's Dueling server is really fun and the user created maps along with the variety of basic weapons add on to the content but I forget if it is a gamemode or just a mod
It was a private gamemode. It died because the old community that wasn't bothered by downloading a client add-on had mysteriously vanished. Really. The server would hit a max of like, 8 people and at least 3 of them wouldn't want to download anything.
Then there's the ghosting issue. Back when it was hosted long ago, the arenas were loaded far enough away that other clients weren't affected by it at all. But something must've changed in Blockland's networking since then, because it now causes problems, and the selective ghosting dll didn't help. The bricks don't show up but yet it still causes the 'ghosting lag' whenever an arena loaded close enough.

Add-Ons / Re: Slayer | CTF Update: New events & more!
« on: January 11, 2017, 11:44:52 PM »
Did you know?

Slayer CTF is an extremely flexible game mode. Here's some examples of things you can do:
  • Multiple flag spawns per team.
  • Attack-only CTF. None of the teams have flags; instead, they must capture a neutral flag and return it to their base.
  • Attack-Defense CTF. Only one team has a flag and the others must capture it.
  • Dynamic flag locking. Use events to prevent specific flags from being captured. Allows for granular control - prevent one team from capturing the same flag twice, for example.
You could also do an S4 League style thing where you capture a neutral flag and bring it to the enemy base.
Speaking of which, the fumbi flag is awful. It needs to have it's mountpoint set to 8 so that the beam of light will always be pointing straight up, then give it offset so it floats above the player.

I'm not sure why they broke the convention in the first place to be honest.

Modification Help / Re: Cancelling a function
« on: January 10, 2017, 02:02:24 AM »
Oh wow, so I have been using schedule(time, obj, func, args) correctly :D

Armor is the player's datablock, calling anything else does not work because the player is not using it for the most part.

I don't really know why it's called Armor and not PlayerData. Could anyone explain that? It makes sense but for creating datablocks it's the same classname for the most part, so I wonder why this one is different than the others.
Armor is the className of the datablock.

never understood the reaction to bastion

i mean competitive's purpose is play to win, right? bastion really works great for defense
i go attack bastion

As for why attack bastion is working

Bastion's weakness is knowing where he is, and when defending, Bastions like to just sit in one spot.
When you're attack bastion tho, you can't sit in one spot, and if you are, it's on a moving payload

yeah, i'm just wondering how high-end nintendo is willing to go for standard cartridges and what effect it'll have on the price of games
Maybe vary based on the game itself.

not me ';.-  y

i still want to know more about the storage capacity of these cartridges and of the console itself. it could be a real problem for the switch if there isn't enough capacity for new AAA titles, but if there is, that'll be a pretty sweet deal. i'm remaining skeptical of a lot of things for the time being, but got dang it'd be sweet if this boy lives up to its claims
SD cards nowadays hold much, much more than Blurays will ever, and will continue to grow bigger.

see i dont think either really have a flagship character anymore. back in the day yeah, especially xbox, but now i feel like nintendo is really the only one who does. probably because they have much less to offer in variety then the other consoles do
Going to answer the latter half that McJob didn't touch up on quite yet.

The Switch will have significantly more variety than previous Nintendo consoles. They're opening the platform up to be more friendly to third party developers and publishers, and have already partnered up with a large number of them, including Bethesda and From Software.

jesus did they nerf roadhog's hook but buff his damage?
no, targets are just put into a consistent place rather than being some odd varying distance based on the hero hooked. This enables him to get a good shot on any hero.
