General Discussion / Re: Why is the colorset limited to 64 colors?
« on: October 30, 2016, 04:12:56 PM »
If only we could just recolor images and have emitters able to change color based on the image and then we could just have 7 datablocks for the entire colorset.
But, even then, that's not why the limit of 64 exists. If say, the limit were to be increased to 128, it would take at least 12.5% longer just to send the color data, which... would be barely noticeable compared to everything else.

At least, that's what makes sense to me. I'm sure someone else would know better.

Help / Re: How to set projectile speed to infinity
« on: October 30, 2016, 03:08:42 PM »
Nah, projectiles were originally unlimited speed.  I cannot seem to find it in the change log so I can only assume it happened in v9. There were collision issues at high velocities and potentially caused lag when miniguns would fire high speed projectiles.

it's significantly easier when you only have 2 axis to work with. Blockland is not one of those games.

On the terms of knowing where objects and such are, this would be best if the bot were part of the server, rather than a connecting client. That way they can properly discover the location of objects and collision.

Well alright, memory is stuff and there wasn't actually a vote.

But there was much more support for dumping maps out of the game.

I have to fully agree with this thread. From my perspective, the game's development is heavily based around what the creators want to see in the game rather than what the clientele whats.
I feel that if the developers were to listen to the suggestions made by the community, and implemented what people would like to see then the user experience for this game would improve.
Reminder that we voted for this. They gave the option and of course, because maps were already dead and a large majority of the players played on slate, maps lost the vote.
And even still, maps:shaders votes was still a smaller gap than not-slate:slate population. Probably some people who only ever playing on slate voting in favor of maps because 'muh nostalgia'.

Oh stuff, three articles.

If we stopped doing things every time three articles came around, video games and guns would've already been banned.

Like, 95% of the servers used some form of slate. And out of the ones that didn't, only like a max of 2 at a time would actually be getting any attention. Maps were dead before they were removed. And not only were they a bitch to build on as Freek described (because no one knew how to align stuff properly. Even the default maps had issues) but they were also an annoyance on the script end too.

Also, minimum shaders are a vast improvement on the visuals of the game alone, even though they don't include shadows. On most cards, minimum performs better than off.

General Discussion / Re: New Years 2017 in development?
« on: October 29, 2016, 12:46:26 PM »
Wait, what?

It's the server that's supposed to get a runtime error, not the client. How did you manage that?
There's more than one error.

It says "Xbox Live Silver members are welcome!" So maybe it was intended for them only. But correct me if I'm wrong.
Being for silver members only would be the stupidest thing ever.
It's for both silver and gold. Silver members are just regular members. Gold members are monthly paying members.

never planning on getting an xbox, especially since microsoft seems to be leaning towards merging PC and xbox together at this point.
Which makes it an even better idea to get it. Because chances are you'll be able to play it on windows 10.

That must have been a more recently updated bit of info, at the time of my last post my search 'Annoying Orange Hollywood Walk Star' showed me some articles about police looking for additional information on him.

An article I'm looking at now says "Speaking to Deadline, the man said his name was Jamie Otis. He said he originally intended to remove Annoying Orange’s star completely to auction it off next month in New York to raise funds for the women who have recently come forward to accuse Annoying Orange of loveually assaulting them over the decades."

That's just really weird, initially thinking you could steal such a recognisable object and then sell it in an auction. Guess he didn't think about going forward with that plan for long!
Well I mean...

"Next month"? Like, normally you wanna drop something stolen as fast as you can.
